Try turning the steering wheel while trying to turn key. It may take some force on the wheel, but don't turn the key hard!

They are solenoids that go bad. If you replace one, replace all four solenoids. The kit costs about $100 on ebay. It is a difficult job gaining access to the inside of transmission. Pay someone that knows how it's done.

If you take your VIN # to a dealer or a locksmith, they shouls be able to cut you a key with the right chip on it, and shouldn't have to reprogram the computer. I would suggest you phone around to a few places first, and explain your situation. The only other thing you can do is try to find an idenbtical car at an auto wrecker, and change the key and tumbler, and the the computer, because it has to match the key if it has a chip on it. try removing the + m on battery and holding it on the earth for a minute then replacing it it some times resets the imobiliser

Hold down the odometer reset button, turn the ignition key to position 1 for 1-2 sec. Then, turn the key to position 2 still holding the button down. Wait for the service light to flash and release the button. It can be tricky. It may take a few times to get it.

If you are talking about the thermo electric cooling fan, its operation is independent of the car's electical system. It is switched on and off by the engine temperature. When you park, the engine heat soaks upward to heat the thermostat turning the fan on. It will run until the engine cools down and the thermostat switches it off.

Try resetting the electrical system by locking and unlocking the doors with your key in the driver's door 5 times in a row. A service manager at a Volvo dealer showed me this after they did some work on my car and on the way home the sunroof wouldn't close.

I have a 2001 S80 that I have to reset the electrical system like this every time I disconnect the battery. All kinds of stuff stops working...sun roof, door locks, lights, radio, windows, etc. Just reset like described and everything should start working again.

no the sunroof has it own module it is part of the motor
