  • first of all you are probably going to need a torque wrench for the crank shaft pulley bolt it has 225lbs.of torque or more.I just did one on my 1991 honda accord dx .you have to take off a/c belt ,alternator etc. on the crank pulley.(I took it to a shop and they heated the 3/4 in. bolt and used torque wrench. I broke a half inch breaker bar trying to get it offf) next use puller to take off crankshaft pulley.support motor and remove motor mount bracket. take off upper and lower timing belt covers.take off timing belt and other belt using the tensioners.take off and replace water pump CHECK ALL TIMING MARKS with #1 piston@TDC. There are about 6.

91 honda accord is leaking oil above the oil filter and above the pan gasket, where is it coming from

Could be coming from the oil pump or even the valve cover gasket. That's about it for oil.I recently had a leak in the dipstick tube. Are you overheating?Do you have to add oil?If so,how much and how often? Thanks,Greg

91 accord lx overheating, leaking fluid but no smoke or steam? i have a 91 accord 180,000 miles awesome car but just now started over heating. no smoke or steam are coming out i don't know is that means...

the green colour will be antifreeze additive in the water, you should really trace the leak source as it is bound to continue or worsen without repair. You could try a product called CE-LIT which comes in little packets, looks like chopped up grass or silica - add to hot radiator and run at idle for several minutes, it is really good if you can find it where you live. I put a screwdriver thru the rad when fixing my number plate in the snow, huge leak ensued, ce-lit closed it within 5 minutes and I was able to drive off. Never leaked again either, if you cant find that one, get a similar one, but not the liquid leak sealers like barr's as they are ****.

1991 honda accord- coolent leaked out from water pump area but water pump seems fine-also when car is ideling car would have little power surges and come close to dying - any ideas

for the water pump leaking, get some engine coolant stop leak from any automotive store, it usually contains pump seal lubricant also. the power surges are a separate problem from your pump leak.

Oil leak 91 accord

Is this an Accord EX? The canister is an oil cooler; there is a seal between it and the block. The cooler is attached with a single large bolt in the center that also has the threads on which the filter is installed.
