Yes, All the years of the ZX2 utilize the same engine. 1998-2003 are all the same except for ECU programing and the MAF wiring. You should not have a problem.

the fuel sender unit is a float system, sounds like the float has a hole in it, and has fuel inside, therefore the float will not rise to the top when the tank is full...
disconnect battery..locate sender unit on top of fuel tank,,( usually located under rear seat )....remove the float and clean thoroughly....then repair hole

check the fuses there s also fuses in the engine bay, also check the wiring to the fan,the wires lead back to the main loom so if you are trying to trace the wire back its easier to take this out to check it but make a note of what connects to what.

Does that car even come with an oil pressure gauge? I don't think so. Try looking at FEOA.net for an answer.

I have a 2002 Ford Escort, I have a problem with my heating, When the car is idelin, the heat works, but when you drive it it dosen't work. What could be the problem

thermostat needs changing idling mean no air flow. so it can heat up. driving the air flow cooling the front radiator cools the system down and you get no heat. your temp gauge will be moving about more than normal.

2001 ford zx2 heat gauge does not work and has a code of low coolant but the overflow got coolant in it.

Dont rely on the overflow, open the radiator cap WHEN COOL and check level there.

first thing i think is that when you changed the thermostat you didnt get all that air bubbles out of the cooling system. 2nd yes it would be the water pump. really simple as long as you havent overheated it head gasket would be fine

Heater blowing good heat temp gauge not moving and cooling fans not coming on. Unplug engine temp sensor and fans start put plug back on fans stop. gauge never moves

bad gauge or bad thermostat.

Fans come on because when you disconnect, it goes to default mode of fans on high speed.

I have a rs2000 escort and the heating is not working at all, the car keeps over heating, wat is it???

the heater is the first thing that stops working when you lose water, so the problem is
  • water leak from cooling systym
  • if after work on engine, air block in cooling systym
  • thermostat sticking causing overheating
  • electric fan not working when stationary for a while
  • major engine fault, head gasket, checked block
