The front seal could be replaced, and not have a problem. If you have a shop other than a transmission shop do the repairs, make sure the torque converter hub is inspected to make certain its not scratched/scorn. If the trans shifts properly and the fluid is not burned or smells burned, this would be an easy repair. If the trans fluid smells burned, and hasn't been serviced regularly, the rebuild would be the way to go. Also, ask what the warranty for any and all repair are on your vehicle. Normal warranty is 1yr, 12.000 miles in the automotive business.

98 FORD EXPEDITION ACCELERATION ISSUES

Do you have a check engine light blinking when this problem occurs? I assume you do because if it is missing and sputtering like you say the engine control computer would detect that and turn on the check engine light. Next step is to have the systems fault codes read through the diagnostic port under the dash in front of the driver, Autozone and others does this test for free.

My 1999 ford expidition sounds like its shifting in overdrive when i reach about 40 miles per hour, the engine gets loud sounds a jet taking off.

You have it backwards

What you hear is engine noise from
higher rpm, because your trans is not
upshifting, as a result of your input on
the gas pedal

You need to have a trans or repair shop find out why
you have a delayed or no shift condition

When you get to 4th or 5th gear (overdrive) you also
get torque converter lock-up & things should get quieter

Think i need to bleed abs system on ford expoler.

Sounds like the abs master cylinder area is in need of replacement if the abs fuse is removed and stops better.

Chattering can occur in an abs system when the system senses wheel lockup on that wheel and attempts to anti lock that wheel.

Could also be a wheel speed sensor not working, properly.

Hope this helps.

ABS light on 1999 Fored Expedition

There is a problem with the ABS (Anti-Lock Brakes). Unless you have the knowledge to diagnose and repair this problem I suggest you seek help from a trusted mechanic or your Volvo dealer. Your ABS may not be working correctly but your normal brakes will still work.

I have a 1999 Ford Expedition. Once you put the

make sure you have plenty of break fluid in the reservoir. take it to reputable garage and make sure the mechanic know how to bleed ABS correctly and see you may have air in the systems. Once the air is in the systems its very difficult to remove the air. if that don't work, check abs sensor and the unit it self may be faulty. if you have to replace it, check ebay or junkyard for a replacement.
