Have an 01 sebring convertible that will not start all the time. New battery. Turn the key and all dash lites and radio come on but sometimes makes a buzzing sound under the hood. If I keep turning the key on and off, it will generally start. Do I need a starter relay ,new starter, solenoid or what?

The starter solenoid can buzz when you have voltage drop from corrosion or loose connections .

Well it wouldn't be a solenoid. My guess would be a starter relay.check to see if you can find the buzzing noise .it could be a fuseable link that's starting to fail .

Mine did the click, click and the timing chain had snapped. If any of you have 2.7 litre engines plan on an engine rebuild or a replacement. Look up the 2.7 engine size along with oil sludge and timing chains. Grab yourself a towel to sop up the tears. This car is 100% garbage and I'm shopping for another non Chrysler product this week.

Your starter sylinoid is most likely toast. Unfortunately most of the time you need to replace the entire starter nowadays to remedy this situation.

Replace your starter, or you may have corrosion on your battery cables.

Sounds like you need a starter, or you have a loose wire somewhere under the hood.

Mine is doing the same thing. We are getting ready to replace the starter. Hopefully that is the problem. I'll let you know how it turns out.

try to reach up under the front of the car with your arm and try to locate the latch with the hood release cable attached to it. Use your fingers or plyers to manipulate the latch to release-pull on the cable. You may have to remove the grill to access it.
