Buick Regal problem-help!!!!!!!!

Happened all at once: 1991 Regal 3.8 liter: hard to start, dies, if you release gas pedal, speedometer won't register miles per hour, runs rough, one coolant fan comes on even when not hot. Had been running fine up til tonight, then all heck broke loose. Has plenty of coolant, oil, etc. Charging gauge indicates ok. Engine service soon light did not come on at all. HELP PLEASE!!!! I am at a loss as to what is wrong. is my 2nd e mail. aren't my fans (both) supposed to be running when the car is running?? I have just bought a used 92' buick regal....the coolant was low so while checking on that...noticed the fan situation Thanks

Have you done the basic maintenance. Spark plugs, oil change, ect.? As for the fans, if you have a/c one of them should only come on when your a/c is on. The other is regulated by a relay so when your car reaches a certain temp it kicks on.

My 01 Buick regal with supercharged 3800 won't

it flooded. step on the gas pedal fully and crank the engine; that forces it to go into a clear flood mode by turning off the injectors. it may take a little while, but it will start.

My 2001 Buick Regal will only start if press the gas pedal, when I release the gas pedal to step on the brake the engine shuts off. Any Ideas?

Could be a dirty throttle body or a faulty idle air control valve.
The computer controls idle speed by regulating the amount of air entering the intake thru the throttle body.

Buick 1991 Regal. It starts fine...idles normallally...but when I start driving, as soon as I come to a stop, it dies.???

First if you did not reset the computer after you replaced the throttle position sensor then do so and if that fixed the problem. If it did not help then replace the coolant temperture sensor and the coolant level sensor then reset the computer. If you replace any sensor you have to reset the computer or the computer will not reconize it as being new and won't reset the perimeters for that sensor.

Replaced ignition module now it won't run at all

After changing the ignition module, you may have broken the communication between all the components in the anti theft security system. This is common on GM antitheft systems. I have a 2000 buick Regal LS. My battery died, I gave it a jump. The Car cranks , but wont stay on unless the gas pedal is press down. If you let the gas pedal go , the car shuts off. what is the solution...

Check out the TPS on the throttle body. It has three wires to it, The black is the ground and the other two are for high and low resistor readings. If an open occurs the car will die out and very well start again. The tps should have a 1.5 volt setting to operate correctly when new

I have a 1991 Buick Regal. Once the car starts, and the engine gets hot, the car will die out, and not start again til cooled off.

one of 2 items are probable. have the ignition module tested. also check the crank position sensor.check for spark and injector pulse when it dies.
