PRNDL error nobackup aid is showing. Its not showing any mile to E nor milage on the dash. Also I had someone jump me for a little and it tried cranking up, it wasn't hooked up long. Does that mean it needs to be jump a little longer or it this another issue?

starter failures, are all classic and fails only for a short list of things
all 4 endes of 2 huge battery cables not rusted or loose.
battery is bad, or only discharged,
cure is charge it or get it load testing in any top autostore for free.
jumper cables, can make starter now work AAA auto club tow truck called and jumped, properly
next (or first)all fuses good not blow,none.
and PRNDL magic, shift to Neutral and crank it, omg it cranks.
(hold brake with foot shift to N) if yes cranks PRNDL is bad. for P
ok no joy.
hot wire the starter, in park and wheels chocked, ask.
ok that fails starter so is dead, if battery is good.
OK that passes (starter hot wire tests)
you scan the PCM and it shows PRNDL, or TRS errors
in English ,transmission range errors. BINGO bad range switch
aka, park lock out features is failing.

OTHER CAUSES BAD STARTER RELAY
IF IT DOES NOT CLICK WITH DEAD SILENT STARTER MOTOR
THINK BAD RELAY , THE PRECURSORS, BAD PRNDL OR DEAD BATTERY.

IS SEE FORDS NAME FOR PRNDL OR TRS IS
DTR. DIGITAL TRANSMISSION RANGE

THERE ARE ONLY 7 CAUSES NOT WIRES BAD.
2 ARE FUSES.
1 IS KEY SWITCH
IF BATTERY AND FUSES ARE GOOD WE HAVE 3 POSSIBLE THINGS BAD.
STARTER
RELAY ( IT MUST CLICK IF STARTER IS SILENT.)
DTR ( TRY NEUTRAL CRANK)

IF AT WITS END ANY VOLTMETER FINDS THIS EASY, ASK.

OK U HAVE TO OPEN THE DASH AND LOOK AND SEE IF UR CONNETOR IS LOOSE THAT SHOWS UR MILAGE GAGE AND IT MIGHT SOLVE IT IF NOT IT THE RELAY TO THE SPEED SENOR AND MILAGE

Key on engine running ,, look the light of PRNDL , try shift lever into R and N and D and L.if light does not turn on. the prndl switch on transmission near shifter shaft is defect water got inside the switch,salt.ice.

Your Neutral Safety Switch or PRNDL Switch needs to be adjusted

here is a service message that Ford put out,, if you check the fuses you will probably see a 20 amp fuse has blow,, try replacing that , if it blows again, you have to get it to the dealer

The manual states the maximum, I always try to replace them around 90 thousand
miles. On some engines, the valves and pistons are an interference setup and if the
timing belt jumps time or breaks ,then the cylinders strike the valves ,requiring
remanufacturing of the head.

the recommended ?? milage for renewing belt on these is between 100,000 -120,000 miles but again this is a recommended time/milage so if you are close to this milage ? i would advise renewal also make sure water pump shows no sign of impending leakagewhilst changing belt and tensioner

The computer is not talking to your dash or the dash is shorted out and needs to be replaced.

i think the computer is telling you that it is not recognizing what gear you are in as you can only start the vehicle in park or nuetral. thats the best i can do for you sorry
