Where is the power window control module?

Do you know how to view wiring diagrams an use a voltmeter to test automotive electrical circuit's ? Fuel gauge is a separate problem , has nothing to do with windows & locks . GM had instrument cluster problems , 2003 to 2006 . Bad stepper motors inside the cluster . These stepper motors control the gauge .

Do all the power windows an locks not work ? Checking power an ground for the driver main door switch would be a good place to start . Also wire's like to break inside the flex boot from the body to the driver's door , no battery power to main switch . The driver door module is part of the switch Assembly . Checking the orange wire for battery voltage to the door module is where i would start , no power , open circuit .

Click the search button then the blue link .Looking at the diagram you will see three fuse's , a relay ,lighting control module , defroster switch . The switch is a input to the lighting control module , the lighting control module will supply a ground to the control side of the rear window defroster relay ,energizing the relay sending B+ power to the defroster grid.

1. If the inspection reveals obvious concerns that can be readily serviced, correct the concern before continuing with Inspection and Verification.
   

1. If the concern remains after the inspection, connect the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester, 007-00500 or equivalent, to the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel to perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS test. If the NGS responds with NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED for the driver door module, go to Pinpoint Test A . If the NGS responds with NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED for lighting control module, go to Pinpoint Test B . If the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS test is passed for the driver door module and lighting control module, retrieve continuous DTCs and execute self test diagnostics for the driver door module and lighting control module to retrieve current DTCs.
   

1. If self test is passed and no DTCs are retrieved, go to Symptom Chart to continue diagnosis.
   

1. If DTCs are retrieved for the driver door module, go to the Driver Door Module (DDM) Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnosis. If DTCs are retrieved for the lighting control module, go to the Lighting Control Module (LCM) Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnostics.
   

1. If the driver door module cannot be accessed by the NGS tester, go to Pinpoint Test A . If the lighting control module cannot be accessed by the NGS, go to Pinpoint Test B .
   

Rotunda Service Bay Diagnostic System (SBDS®) 001-00001 may also be used to diagnose this system.

The speedometer not working is probably the step motor inside the instrument cluster . New instrument cluster ! Replace the turn signal switch.
The vehicle is equipped with power door locks. Each lock actuator is powered and controlled by the door module mounted in the individual door. The driver door module (DDM) is the master control for the door lock system but the rear integration module (RIM) contains the program that determines when the lock functions are permitted.
The vehicle is equipped with power windows controlled by the door modules. The DDM receives a window switch request, over the SBI serial data, from either the passenger door module wired to the window switch pressed or from the driver door switch assembly. The DDM checks the Class 2 serial data to see if the status information is correct (i.e. ignition switch position) to permit window operation.
If the status information to permit window operation is correct, the DDM sends the command to the door module controlling the window to move the window as requested.
Windows Power and Ground
The windows are powered by discreet power and ground circuits. These circuits are in the same dedicated connector as the window motor drive circuits.
These systems are very complex and are able to set DTC'S in the controlling module .Your best bet is to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop .

DTC'S are intended to point the qualified technician in the correct diagnostic path. You may have a communication or network problem . Are you familiar with class two serial data bus communication network . The simple bus provides a means for information exchange among the vehicle door modules. Door module information on inputs and commanded outputs are converted to serial bus interface data for exchange among the door modules. The DDM can also take information from modules connected to the class 2 serial data circuit and relay the command to the simple bus interface. The vehicle power mode message (ignition switch position) from the DIM is an example. The DDM periodically addresses each module on the simple bus interface. When a module does not respond to the DDM, the DTC for that module is set. You can't just replace these modules , some need to be programmed . Dealer only ! First check codes , power an grounds etc....

What make , model an year vehicle ? Disconnecting the battery resets what ever controls the central locking system an power windows . You mite also have modules on the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Could have a BCM - body control module , GEM - generic electronic module etc....

Are they routed through the ignition switch, are all the column connectors on okay?

start with the fuses replace it anyway or put a 12volt bulb in place of fuse , when its loading down it will shine bright , when normal it will not shine much at all.
be sure all connections to battery are working check for a second positive cable with a f useable link

The windows are controlled by a computer module known as the BCM, have the dealer perform a self test of the module with a special scan tool.

The power windows are controlled by the Generic Electronic Module, also the wipers and interior lights go through this module, the problem is most likely the module itself, the module is behind the radio, but check the fuses , fuse #1 7.5A Power Mirror Switch, fuse #26 10A, power window relay, in the underhood box check the following: Fuse #4 20A** Power Windows

Looking at a wiring diagram ,the BCM has nothing to do with the cruise control . This vehicle has two different body control modules ,the (FEM) front electronic module an the (REM) rear electronic module . The power door locks are controlled by these two modules . The door lock switches are inputs to the (FEM) . The driver door lock is also controlled by the (FEM) . The right front and the rear door locks are controlled by the (REM) . The power windows are not controlled by these modules ,so it is not a faulty body computer . An where did you check codes ? Takes a factory or professional type scan tool to read these codes . No code reader , they just check PCM - engine codes . The power mirrors are not controlled by these modules either . Nor is the radio .
Looking at a wiring diagram i see the power mirror's and the power window share a common ground point G-305 , so does the rear radio controller ! (if your vehicle has one )
Buying an replacing parts is no way to fix these problems ! Using a wiring diagram and a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter to test the electrical circuits of these systems is the way to find the problem .
