There may be an issue with the control module in the engine compartment. Or maybe you could adjust your idle speed on the throttle body.. Dose it cut out while driving or while idleing

SOURCE: el fuel pump

IT might be either in the boot on top of tank OR on the rear of tank,
If on rear then drain at least 1/2 the tank out before undoing the clip ring which turns to the l/h/ to undo use a small piece of copper or brass or even good piece of timber but not steel ..
Undo and take out pump and filter To check pump wipe clean and dry and let it dry out for about 1/2 hr before fitting battery power to it for checking and if dont sound good straight away or the filter is dirty then new one is the answer..
REPLACE IT in the reverse of removal and make sure that the petrol pipes are fitted tight.
When you take the pipes off the back of pump then fit something in pipes to stop the loss of petrol .

SOURCE: i have a 1994 ford taurus station wagon, the battery won't stay charged, the confusing thing is that the inside panel and door light works

you have a faulty alternator by the sounds of it, try this simple test, : test the voltage of the battery with the vehicle off with a simple multimeter, it should read just over 12v then test it with the car running, it should read around 14-14.5 volts if it still only reads 12v then your alternator needs replacing.

I have a 92 caviler station wagon. That will start without a problem but will Idol for one second then die. My car was running fine last night. Then I got up for work this morning with a dead battery so I...

OK, have you check is the charging system is working correctly? The alternator should be charging the unit. Does you battery hold power(12.5V Minimum)? If the problem is not the charging system, check for Fuel issues. Does the gas pump delivering fuel to the EFI/Carburetor? Also try to clean the spark plugs and check if the ignition coil is working correctly.
Basically your wagon problem sounds as if it is Ignition/fuel issue. If it turns on then dies means that either there is spark issue or gas issue. Not enough fuel goes into the combustion change and it gets cut off right after turning on.

Some early models and all turbocharged or fuel injected cars are equipped with an electric fuel pump. On the early models the fuel pump is mounted in the trunk on sedans and hardtops and in the left rear wheel housing on station wagons. On the turbocharged Colt and fuel injected Vista, the fuel pump is in the gas tank. On the Conquest, it is on the frame rail, behind the left rear wheel, and on later models is located on the fuel tank.

On late Conquest models, the fuel pump is tank mounted. It is necessary to remove the fuel tank for fuel pump service. Refer to the Colt/Vista procedure.

Hope helped.

Not starting after replacing fuel filter and tune-up

I had the same problem with a 1989 Volvo 740 GLE station wagon. I did the same thing you did. But this time I talked to the local Independent Volvo service shop, not the dealer. The problem turn out to a bad fuel pump in the gas tank. You can replace it from inside the back of the station wagon. Just remove the floor panel to access the top of the fuel tank. But before you do; note that there are two fuel pumps, one inline underneath the car on the drivers side, and the one inside the gas tank. Before, you replace any of the fuel pumps check the fuel pump relay behind the astray on the left side. It could also be a bad relay.
