2001 Toyota Tacoma- turn lights not working and cruise control

Need to check the switch at the pedal. A real easy way to check it is if you have cruise control. Set the cruise and tap the brakes. If the cruise doesn't disengage then the switch is usually the culprit

If the dash light is not coming on when you push the button on the stalk, I am pretty sure it is the spiral cable running down the steering column. There is a Techbical Service Bulletin on this piece. Some are being replaced because they affect the air bags. Check with your dealer to se if your VIN is covered.

-Possible bad cable. Check and replace new one.

Check to see if your brake lights are staying on.
I thought my cruise control stopped working too, but realized that it would not work because the brake light control on the brake pedal was stuck.
I changed the $40 control and the cruise control works.

Hi you have a multifunction switch , which is your turn signal arm and windshield wiper and also hazard and break lights , it is time to replace it.

First check the brake switch if it is sending a signal that the brake is applied the cruse cont. wont work. If the vehicle is a standard then also check the switch on that pedal for the same reason. I don't really know what you mean by "the gas light" do you mean the light behind the gauge or?
