SOURCE: black smoke runs badly, fuel pressure regulator or temp sensor?

look for a vacuum leak. A large vacuum leak will do just what you described. I would listen for a leak first if you cant hear it and locate it then i would spray carb cleaner around the vacuum lines. If you have a leak it will pull the carb cleaner in and you will hear the engine rpm change.

SOURCE: 1998, gmc,K2500, 5.7l, 250,000km, starts

A bad coolant temp sensor for the ECM will cause that problem ... they are cheap and easy to replace. One other possibility is a piece of carbon stuck in the EGR causing an internal vacuum leak ..
Good luck.

I just bought. A volvoS40 but it's smoking. With a. Dark colour how do i. Get it. Fixed

run the fault codes
dark smoke ( black) is an indication of incorrect air/fuel mixture
this can be from leaking injectors, faulty seal , over pressure in fuel system, faulty heated oxygen sensors, blocked air filter, faulty MAF/VAF sensors
the fault codes reading will give a better indication of where to start in the fixing process

Car model: chevrolet colorado 2.8 turbo diesel ,

It sounds like it has a bad main bearing, or it is dumping oil in the fuel (bad gaskets) You definitely do not want to run the engine with low oil pressure.

2007 Silverado, 6.6 Duramax w/Allison Transmission. Computer says "Low Rail Pressure". The truck seems to have no power in "Tow" mode. If I shut the truck off for about 45 minutes and restart it's OK for...

There is a service bulletin for this condition. It has to do with a ceramic high pressure valve ball fracture inside the fuel injection pump, which may lead to internal pump damage resulting in low fuel rail pressure. This could contaminate the fuel rails and injectors with debris. The fuel pump will operate but with reduced output flow. The fuel injection pump will have to be replaced or repaired.Look and see if there are any repair shops that specialize in injection pumps.Hope this helps.Good luck.
