SOURCE: I can't start my honda accord. the steering wheel is locked

Gently rock the steering wheel back and forth against each place it stops while trying to turn the key. DON"T use any force here! You may consider shooting a spray lube into the key slot also.

SOURCE: play in the steering wheel column after position adjustment

When they did the alignment it's possible that they used a tool that locks the steering wheel straight while it's on the alignment rack.If they put too much pressure on the wheel when they used the steering wheel seat lock tool it may have stressed you tilt lock mech causing it not to lock where you want it.Hope this helps

Lexus 300 Rx 2000 where is the steering wheel lock pin location?

Directly behind the steering wheel. You have to remove the wheel to access it. Beware of the air bag. you must remove power to it before you do anything to the steering wheel

Why trac off warning in rx 350 2012?

This could be due to improper wheel alignment or worn suspension or steering components. It may also be due to odd tyre fitment. Check those first.

When you turn the key,it only goes to the Acc position

Turn the Key OVER and see if you can rotate it then.

Are your Wheels turned HARD and the Steering Wheel Locked?
Are your Wheels against a CURB and not allowing the Steering Wheel to rotate to remove the Locking Mechanism to go freely?

Steering wheel is very stiff. car makes a squeeling noise when started. its a lexus rx300 2002 used mostly on gravel roads

check your power steering: for leaks and also the tightness of the belt. More then likely the belt or the pulley on the power steering is the problem, Tim

I have what sounds like a front wheel bearing noise on my 2007 Lexus RX 350. 1. How do I identify if it is coming from the right or left wheel (the noise increases when I put steering wheel pressure to...

Jack up one side at a time and get a big bar or a strong 2x4, lift the wheel, have somebody lift while you peek at the inside and see if you can see something loose, grab the wheel and shake it left and right, It should tell you something, If, not, try the other side, Something gotta be clinking in there somewhere. You don't need a socket to get the bearing nut off, it is not tight, it is snugged up and then backed off, If it were put on tight, It would overheat in a few miles and smoke you out of the car and weld itself to the spindle/ axle, which ever you have there, most front drive cars don't have front end problems like 2 wheel drive cars, but they do have bearing problems. Hope this helps.

I WOULD LIKE TO DEACTIVATE MY STEERING COLUMN ( RX 330)

in order to accomplish this you have to take the programmed steering position out of the loop. in order to do this y7ou have to install a relay that only activates the when the vehicle is in bypass.when you use the auto start it sends a signal to the alarm to bypass however the steering also gets a pulse you have to seperate the steering circuit from the bypass loop. pulling a fuse won't do the trick . you need a multimeter a relay, piggy back connecters and some wire. you are going to have to use different color wire perferably black white orange and purple so you can clearly identify your circuits. tryinging to keep the steering in one position is not feasiable because it's memory orientated and there for has a link in the ecm and can't be tampered with due to safety issues
