Rear wheels are more suseptible to corrosion than are the front. A corrosion ring forms between the brake rotor and the wheel hub assembly. Use a large rubber mallet or a baby sledge to hit along the top edge of the rotor in order to break the corrosion ring. Some care may be needed if you are trying to re-use the rotor after they are turned down, otherwise you can hit the rotor much harder, and they should break free.

If not, apply some heat to the seam area between the rotor and hub. It will smoke, but do not get it red hot. Remove the heat and try using the hammer once again. Be careful not to grab the hot portion of the rotor when it breaks free.

How do I remove front rotor from 2000 montero

They are bolted on. Remove the bolts. You need the correct size wrench of which there are many types, generally the larger the better. The bolts can be stubborn, there are products that will help loosen them. Try a car parts store in your neighborhood. The bolts turn counter clockwise. The bolts need to be retightened to specifications when you put it back together.

Vibration of steering wheel while bracking in Mistzubishi montero sports 2012

if you have a vibration only while braking and only in the steering wheel then you have warped front rotors causing the problem. there was a time when you could have the rotors turned and reused. but the way they make rotors now(too thin to start with) you will have to replace them, make sure the wheel nuts are torque to spec.

How do I eplace the front rotors on a 1997 Mitsubishi Montero Sport 4wd? Is there a special tool required to remove and replace the rotor and is there an adjustment needed inside the hub?

jack up the car, first break lugs, and remove tire. There are two bolts on the front back side, if it like are endeavor then I compressed the caliper piston and then I had to take apart the caliper as the old pads did not come out, those are the two bolts on each end. then put back on. Once the caliper is off the rotor will come off as it is held on by the caliper. Just be careful with the caliper once it is removed as it is a brake line, you can use a hanger for it does not pull on the line when it is off the rotor. Good Luck Tim
