My daughters 2001 hyundai accent when first starting hesitates badly and stalls. Once warmed up it seems to run fine. She hasn't had a tune up in a while, I had her bring her car to the auto parts for a diagnostic check. She had many codes come up it also showed all 4 cylinders misfiring. I have no problem changing her plugs and wires but the auto place mentioned a coil pack which is not cheap. Don't mind changing it but I want to make sure she needs it. Thanks for your help. Joe
More than likely , I hate to say, it is the coil packs. If the plugs were fouled it would not change to running fine after warm up. If you do change the coil packs, change the plugs while you are in there.
There are various questions to ask in order to help you.
When does it stall?
If it stalls when the AC of the car turns on, then this handy diagnostic article will help solve your problem:

Likely applicable to your situation--since you say the car runs fine when it is "warmed up"--when the car stalls because the engine is NOT warmed up and is otherwise cold, this handy diagnostic article will help solve your problem:

And as to backfiring when you initially run your car, this handy article really helps in identifying the common causes of such a problem:

This should help.
Good luck!

This car is a four cylinder and only has one coil pack being that there is no distributer cap and rotor. Any other thoughts are appreciated. As for puting on the AC car runs a little sluggish but doesn't stall. Spoke with service tech at a Hyundai dealer, he tells me certain sensors can also cause this. "Ughhhh"
