Door locked shut; motor broklen and manual latch jammed.

2000 Concorde LXi,4dr, 102,000 miles, very clean, has a faulty left rear door lock motor (actuator it's called. Replaced its mate on the other side last Fall. Problem is... the door is locked shut and the manual button will NOT unlock it. The linkage appears to be jammed. The door can't be openned, and the inside door panel can't be accessed to expose the screws that will permit the panel to be removed. I have a "slim jim" but... I haven't tried for fear of damaging the close seal between the window and the seal itself. Besides... perhaps someone has had a similar experience and has a solution. My Chrysler dealer was puzzled. Claims to have never seen one that was locked shut so well it couldn't be accessed without tearing the panel off with saws and crowbars.

you must remove inside door panel all the screws going into door including screw for inside door handle. you will be able to reach it then. try not to break any brackets surrounding screws(you will have a loose door). took me 15-20 min.

Rear door will not open on my ford focus ghia t reg

Hi chance are the mechanism inside door jamming. Short of forcing off the inner panel in order to clean lubricate etc I find the best way to get this open is to get someone to keep activating your central locking open and shut while you simply keep trying the door handle at the same time and this can some times just catch the latch in just the right position to get the door open ( you dont need to forcefully be pulling on the handle as the latch will either simply click over on the fine spring latch mechanism or not force is not going to help).
Once and if you manage to get door open take off the inner door card panel and oil lubricate mechanism. rather than then shut door simply use a screw driver on latch to test and worth then working back and forth. If still jamming replace latch.

Mazda mpv 2000 front passenger door is jammed shut. All the locks unlock besides that one. can't open the door. Mechanic said they must break panel from inside. How can I get the door to open without...

Your latch assembly may be frozen, or the door actuator faulty (a common problem on this vehicle).

How do i remove the driver's inside panel door? My electric button panel for windows and locks isn't moving.

Like reference guide, check this procedure to Removal & Installation / Door Lock Motor...

The door lock motor is integral with the door latch. If the door lock motor is found to be defective, the entire door latch must be replaced.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Roll the door glass down.
  3. Disengage the 2 clips attaching the speaker grille to the door trim panel. (They are at the front of the grille, one near the top, and the other one at the bottom).
  4. Remove the 3 large washer-headed screws surrounding the speaker.

  5. Remove the access cover at the front of the door trim panel. Remove by prying at its rear edge.
  6. Remove the red courtesy reflector from the lower tail of door. Disengage by prying at the screwdriver notch at the bottom of the reflector.
  7. Remove the flag trim panel from the door by prying it off at the 2 attachment clip points.
  8. Remove the 7 screws attaching the door trim panel to door:
    1. One screw is located at the lower rear screw pocket.
    2. Three screws are located along the bottom of the door.
    3. One screw is located inside the handle opening.
    4. One screw is located at the upper front.
    5. One screw is in the pull cup.
  9. Disengage the 2 hidden clips attaching the rear of the trim panel; pry them off at the 2 attachment clip points.
  10. Lift the trim panel upward and away from the door, disengage the trim panel from the upper retainer channel.
  11. Disengage the clip attaching the latch linkage to back door handle.
  12. Disconnect the electrical connectors as necessary, including the lower foot light, if equipped.
  13. Remove the door trim panel from the door.
  14. Remove the water shield (water dam) from the inside of the door.

My 1987 Dodge Ramcharger, 318 Auto, 2wd has a rear door issue. It won't shut and latch properly the owner before me installed additional locks on either side to secure the door but they are ugly. Any way...

take a look at the latches, make sure they are grease good and all working, sometimes one of the latches freezes up, so the door is not completely latched, also you can adjust the striker to lock tighter, this is located on the body, at the top and bottom of the left side door, take a look and see if all latches are latching, use a screw driver to push them locked and see if latec will stay latched in the lock postion. good luck.

2000 Ford Focus electric locks/acuator failure recurring problem

I would follow their recommendation as I had the same problem with my car. They unhooked the power to that door and it was fine. The problem was a short in the wiring in the door that was causing the problem. So maybe get them to check the wiring in the door as well.

VW Golf 2002 central locking

this sounds like a stuck switch in the door lock assembly. it will make the locking system work like its got a mind of its own. The best fix is to first try cleaning the latch on the door it has a switch to tell the car if the latch is open/closed. Use an old tooth brush with some degreaser scrub the base of the latch on the door. After its cleaned up relube it with some white grease or dry graphite. Then try the lock again. If this doesn't solve it then the lock assembly has a faulty switch inside and replacement is the best option
