I have a 1989 pontiac firebird v6 and i took the distributor cap annd rotor off and replaced them and now the car wont start it turns over. the car nnever had problems starting before this?

it sounds like that you have the spark plug wires on wrong, get a auto manual, and look up your engine, and the firing order, and go from there to re install the wires 1 at a time. the rotor sounds like it is ok.

I mixed up my spark plugs and wires on my 1998 Pontiac Firebird 3.8. Can you explain how to find the correct firing order?

V6 firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2. Cylinders 2-4-6 are on the PASSENGER side front to back and 1-3-5 is on the DRIVERS side front to back. Coils are 6-3-2-5-4-1 front to back.
