Central Locking Since the winter of 2008, the vehicle's door locks no longer all lock at once. No matter if the key is used, or any of the interior door lock buttons are pushed or pulled. The doors WILL lock but each lock now needs to be activated separately from each door or in the case of the front doors, from the key. Fuses appear good and substitutions were made to verify the condition. The problem developed slowly during the very cold winter. Sometimes, all doors would lock, sometimes 2 or 3 would lock and sometimes only one. Now, just the door having the key lock or if inside, the lock buttons on each door. So far I've been told it COULD be the locking motors but I have difficulty believing all failed at once.

Since all the doors will not unlock electrically, I will assume your answer is the most likely.

Where is the Central Locking Electronic Control Module physically located?

This is a 1996 Saab Turbo, 5-door model.

I THOUGHT it was on the passenger side under the dash, but I don't see it there. Of course, I haven't taken the dash apart. I thought it would be easily accessible.

When you use your remote or insert your key in the Drivers Front door all the door locks should work at the same time by the door lock motors electrically. If you have to manually unlock the door because it will not lock or unlock by the lock motor, you need a door lock motor. The drivers and passengers front door can unlocked with the key manually. The rear doors you have to pull up the latch. If no doors unlock electrically with the remote or drivers door lock, intermittantly or all the time, you will need a Central Locking Electronic Control Module. You will hear the "beep" but no door locks will fire at all. If you have odd door locks not working intermittantly you need a new door lock motor for each door lock that malfunctions. You can hear of the door locks are working electrically. Yes, they are common problem. If you can hear the door lock working but the door still doesn't unlock you need to take the door panel off and lubricate the door latch assembly and work the lock, loosening it up. This is common as well.

I put central locking on my new Kia Picanto, excludes boot/trunk! I must manually lock boot with ignition key, a security risk and inconvenient. Is this "central locking" when ALL doors don't lock!

No! Central locking means all locks on a vehicle can be locked and unlocked from one lock or by using a remote key fob and not individually.

Can the immobilizer or central locking be switched off in a Nissan Almeria 2001 car?

you can remove the central locking fuse , this will stop the lock/unlock constantly , the problem is usually with the drivers door lock mechanism , that is perhaps why you cant lock/unlock with the key, lock from inside vehicle and get out passenger side, that lock should work with the key until you get the lock changed on drivers door

Central locking problems

This is part of the auto-locking mechanism that is available in most current vehicles. If you are in your vehicle and it 'self locks' you are not locked 'out'. The system detectswhether or not a key is in the ignition. Once OUT of the car, you will have to intentionally lock the doors, either using the fob, or key, or pressing the lock button prior to exiting.

12/6/2010 2003 bmw 325xi: Key does not manually lock/unlock driver door...but still works in ignition and trunk...central locking system still works to lock/unlock all doors(including driver) from...

If the key turns in the lock, but does nothing, then the linkage has become disconnected or broken. The key is mechanical to the lock and the lock has a electrical switch to operate the central locking unit. Could be a simple broken clip from the lock barrel. Hope this helps

Where is the re-set button to program a remote door lock for my 2000 Subaru Forester?

Obtain all keys/remote controls. Remove driver's side kick panel/lower 'A' pillar trim. Connect central locking registration connectors (white) - black wire and black/blue wire Fig. 2 . Unlock the vehicle using the key. Program first key/remote control as follows: Press unlock button Fig. 1 [1], then lock button [2]. The door lock should lock and unlock in sequence confirming programming of first key/remote control. Repeat programming procedure for remaining key(s)/remote control(s). Once the last key/remote control is programmed disconnect central locking registration connectors. Check operation of all programmed keys/remote controls.

1999 Audi A3 1.8T Electric Windows and Central Locking Won't work

will your passenger door open with the key and is it just one side that your windows are not working or both. if its just one side it might be your regulator motor in the door thats not working if its both it might be your central locking pump usually in the boot. however if both of them are working fine it could be that your key needs reprogrammed however i think the 1st 2 are more likely to be the problem.
