A computer diagnostic said that I needed a rear speed sensor (traction control/abs/engine/stabilitrack lights come on intermittently). Are there speed sensors on both rear tires or just one?

apart from trading it in for a new model you could try changing the back wheels for the front wheels and see if this cures the wobble.the car battery is fine if its starting ok so leave that well alone as no doubt the firestone have a special on the batteries where the mechanic gets so many cans of beer for each battery sold .forget the service engine light thats their to make you take vehicle to dealer to have it done to put the light out ,change the battery in the key fob but be warned this vehicle has to be put on the dealer diagnostic machine to reset ,another wheeze to keep the dealers in business so use another battery with the wires on to hook into contacts on the key fob before you change the battery ,save about 80 euros + labour .now the ABS light ??? thinking ,could be lots of things but here you may need a local mechanic to have a look for you as the cause could be sensor on a wheel or the wheel bearing as the modern motor uses a gray paste on the back of the wheel bearing instead of a metal ring with teeth and this paste/paint can get damaged by a twig or plastic bag getting caught behind the bearing rubbing it off ,i have the teashirt for this so dont ask.see how you get on and if you need anything else just answer the reply

Hello! Since the fault is affected by disassembling then re-assembling I strongly suspect a faulty connector...A loose or bent pin, poor crimp, broken wire inside it's sheath or harness that is damaged by a tight bend...The wiring involved are cable runs from the speed sensors to the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)...This is a very difficult fault to locate...Since it is occurring on many vehicles, It more than likely is a harness that is to tight; Especially around a solid object...A visual inspection of the involved harness run especially at connection points should be done...The speed sensor connectors at the wheel hubs (especially the front) are the most suspect...I would replace all four connectors...Here is a picture of the connector...AC Delco part # PT786...Cost $25
At the EBCM a 30 pin connector receives sensor signals on pins 1,3,4,5,6,7,8, and 9...
Look for loose pins, poor crimps, or damaged wires...Guru....Saailer

Is the sensor tone ring in the bearing or on the side axle. If the ring is internal to the bearing have you replaced the bearing when you replaced the sensor (sold as one unit normally, aftermarket). If the tone ring is external, check it for cracks or loose fit on the axle. Also the wiring integrity of the sensor from the connector in the wheel wheel back to the EBCM (electronic brake control module) should be checked as well. hope this will help you

You will have to spend money to retrieve the ABS/Traction
Codes,and have diagnosed and repaired
Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor--is a possible
failed part.
You never guess,you test,find problem,
determine solution,then repair

the tire pressure sensor has nothing to do with traction control. need to have system scanned and see what codes are in it and we can go from there

The Body Control module (BCM) detects that the traction control switch has been pressed (signal circuit is low). The Body Control module (BCM) sends a serial data message to the EBCM in order to disable traction control. The IPC receives a serial data message from the EBCM requesting illumination. The BCM sends a serial data message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
Your best bet is to take it to a ASE certified an qualified repair shop ,that has the diagnostic tool to fix this problem .
