Look for a cap on the fuel rail to purge air. Under cap will look like a tire valve, with fuel pump running depress center pin to bleed out air. If no fuel CK for plugged fuel filter.
check small 4 way connector at the pump if it looks burnt replace with "pig tail" wire harness . look at fuel pump ground connection on frame near gas tank filler. look for bad fuel pump relay ( very rare) . will engine run is starting fluid injected?
most fuel pump relays are located in the main fuse box, under the hood. look for a black box on the drivers side,or passenger side fenderwell under the hood. lift cover off and look on underside of the fuse box lid for location of the fuel pump relay and main engine fuse.hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com
CHECK FUEL PUMP PRESSURE. SHOULD BE 41 - 47 PSI. IF FUEL PRESSURE REAL LOW CHANGE FUEL FILTER.STILL LOW FUEL PUMP FAULTY. IF FUEL PUMP NOT RUNNING CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE OR RELAY.IF ALL IS GOOD FUEL PUMP BAD. HAVE VECHICLE SCANNED WITH A SCANNER BEFORE BUYING NEW PARTS. LOOK FOR FUEL PUMP FAULT CODES AND PCM FAULT CODES.
Most newer cars, the pump in located in side the tank. But some have the pump along the side one or the other. Look for a can with lines going in and out. The best way to see if it is working, would be to take the fuel line loose at the fuel rail, some have a press test port, looks just like the valve on a car tire. turn on the key and depress the center of the test port or take the hose loose from the fuel rail. If no fuel or press is present, you have a bad pump or a stoped up filter. Look on line at Advanced parts com and look up your pump and your filter so you know what they look like. To see where they are.
