Most likely has to come out & apart to find the problem It is a transaxle with ten years on it,some don't last a long time,can't go by mileage & if the fluid was never changed since new it's done.
this one is pretty labor envolved. you need to remove the front bumper to remove the head light to replace bulb. not really for a novice person or someone who doesnt work on cars. good luck.
do not flush the trans, that will make it worse.
My friend you have no second gear, you need trans rebuilt.
If you flush it now you can cause more damage.
