Had a similar problem and it just ended up being the sensor for the EVAP controls.  Stupid I know but it fixed the rough idle. Error code was P1443. Worth a try.

Are you sure the spark is sufficient? I have seen weak coils cause your problem also bad coil wires loosing to much voltage to the distributor.

My 2000 ford expedition stalls when i get up to speed... I have changed all spark plugs and changed a coil that the auto parts store said to on number 7 and i still have the same problem with the stalling...

This can only be a guess since I don't have the mileage. Around a 100k on the odometer and fuel filter never changed..
No filter then the screen on the fuel pump inside the tank.

Motor shakes very bad

-Sounds like blow head gasket, broken or burn valve.
-Do compression check each cylinder to see what you have and compare to its specification.
Or
-Was it recently rebuild?
If so then timing might be off.
spark plug wire connect to the wrong spark plug.
Vacuum line might connect to the wrong line.
Bad rotor or cap .

Good luck

98 expedition 5.4 4x4 with dual a/c..sputters and shakes while idle and driving...please help me ! i have replaced 5 of the 8 spark plugs till i can get to the back 3 (pain in the ****) no change not even...

When you know the symptom who needs codes? And if there was a code it probable say lean bank 02. why simple you have a misfire. the smell rich exhaust the shake and sputter in drive. 2 causes the Expedition suffer from ,An open EGR valve. If you can change a fuel filter and change a spark plug you can test this. when the engine is running and misfire at idle and the vehicle is warmed up and at operating temperature. Turn off engine. Go to the EGR is it hot to touch. because if it is it open and this the the culprit.Another misfrie is from COP (coil on plug.)When you change the spark plug where any of the spark boot torn or worn that spark can go through. Or even a faulty COP will do this .To find it you have the engine running and lift one COP out of the cylinder and listen for a engine drop if the engine RPM drop the COP is good if no change in engine the COP is bad. By the way 600rpm in drive is low

My truck idling low

You replace alot of things but you should replace the EGR valve and the throttle positioning valve also. I would start with the EGR valve

Engine running rough

hey

As in "rough" could you be more descriptive.
i.e.
what does it do when your driving?
is it sparking on all cylinders?
any knocking in the engine?
