I would use the factory Power steering fluid.  However as long as the fluid is Hydrolic oil G 002 000 you will be fine.  Just take this referance number in and have your local parts store see if they can come up with comprable fluid to the VW power steering fluid

Looking for a manual for a 1969 VW beetle

Hello -

It is not clear from your question regarding if you want an owner's manual for a 1969 VW Beetle or if you want a service manual or both.

This is the link to a free downloadable PDF version of an owner's manual for a 1969 VW Beetle:
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/187844/Volkswagen-1969-Model.html#manual

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader software (free.)

If you are seeking a service manual, it seems you may have to purchase a copy of the service manual through an auto parts store. I have no idea of the country where you reside, so I hesitate to provide you with some links for purchasing the service manual.

If you reside in the USA or Canada, your local public library system probably subscribes to a database of automobile service manuals which you can access online through the library website . . . at no charge. If you do reside in the USA or Canada and are unfamiliar with the auto service manuals database/s, I suggest you visit your local public library and ask one of the reference/information librarians to educate you about the auto repair manuals database and how to access them electronically from home. You will need a valid library borrower card for remote access.

Best wishes.

How to change the glove box lock from Volkswagen new beetle 2004

Note: the cost to purchase at a dealer a new part to change the lock may be excessive. You may be able, if you have the time, and can locate a -- Used Car Auto Parts store -- to find a part from a scrap car. Maybe you can live without it?

Vw

It should be under the driver's side of the dash around the steering column. They can take it to most any auto parts store and get the codes read for free.

What is the small black plastic oil container with the green cap immediately to the left of the battery on a 2004 VW beetle? I was cleaning my engine and accidentally broke off the barbed fitting and hose...

That is the power steering fluid reservoir. Be sure to replace any fluid lost with the correct type.

Volkswagen uses a specific type of fluid. Using the wrong one will result in damage to the power steering pump and/or rack and pinion.

Consult your owners manual or the Volks dealer to be sure you are getting the right fluid.

Good luck.

Vw beetle power steering

Go to www.vagcat.com and sign up for your car (it's free). Once you've done so, you can browse through exploded diagrams for your car, and each diagram has the manufacturer's part numbers for each part listed.

Can't findwhere to put in power steering fluid.

It should have a dark green cap/cover with a notch implicating to use a wide enough object e.g. casino chip to open it. Use only VW power steering OIL not regular ATF.
