How much should it cost to replace the timing belt and water pump on a lexus es 2001

My car is a 2001 Lexus ES300 and has 106K miles. I brought it to my mechanic to replace Thermostat, Thermostat Gasket, Timing Belt, Water Pump, Camseals Kit, Crankseal, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Timing Component and Spark Plugs for a total of $981.24 ($510 of it is labor). He charges at least 1/2 of a dealer so expect to pay more elsewhere. The care drives like a brand new car and I will keep driving it for another 10 years!!!

WHEN SHOULD I REPLACE THE TIMING BELT ON 2003 ELANTRA AND WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT TO PAY?

The timing belt should be replaced every 60,000 miles, this is very important because this engine is not free wheeling if the belt fails, this means the engines valves hit the pistons. The cost to replace the timing belt is about $300 but varies with local labor rates, the rate where I live is $100.00 per hour.

Was told my hyundai sonata xg350 needs a new timing belt...what is the going price for this job done by expert mechanic. Also, how difficult of a job is this for a non expert w/experience in this area?

Timing belts are best left to the experts. You can expect to pay in area of $500 - $600 or more. It is common when belts break to bend a valve in the process, if this happens, expect to pay several hundred more.

Is there a timing belt in the 2004 Tundra V8 or Chain? If it's a belt when should it be replaced and what is the estimated cost?

Hello. Welcome to FixYa.

Yes, the 2004 Tundra V-8 has a timing belt.

The recommended replacement interval is 90,000 miles.

Expect to pay about 5-6 hours labour, at your area's going labour rate, and about 60 dollars for the belt.

Thanks for choosing FixYa today.

How much does a timing belt cost? and what could I expect to pay the mechanic on a 2002 Kia Rio Cino

The timing belt is not the big cost,if the belt has broken while you where driving the car the you may need to spend up to $3000 dollars to repair the damage caused by a broken belt.If your belt is not broke and you have over 50000 miles then get it replaced, expect to pay about $600-$900.This is dependant of labour rates and problems occurred during the repair, your price may be lower.

Amount of time expected to do a head gasket, water pump on a 97 olds achieva 2.2?

I'd expect to pay anywhere from 8-12 hours of labor. A head gasket is a tremendously time-consuming job and takes a lot of work. You'll also be paying for other parts (intake and exhaust manifold gaskets have to be replaced, new coolant, new oil since both are drained before the job starts), and if you're doing a water pump, bite the bullet and do the timing belt, timing belt tensioner, accessory belt(s), and thermostat as well - those are normally done with the water pump and there's no sense in paying the labor twice.

Timing Belt

Normally my Honda Dealership replaces the Timing Belt, Water Pump, Valve Cover Gasket, Crank and Cam Seals all in one shot. Service life is about the same for all of them and the Honda Tech is right there anyway to do the Timing Belt, which saves the customer the Labor Cost of coming back later to do it. Prevents us from getting the customer back a couple of months later mad that they have to pay almost the same amount of labor again for another part to be replaced.
Normally they will also replaces the exterior belts if they have not already been replaced.
Go to www.repairpal.org for what the local cost are to be expected in your area, just keep in mind that it only lists the timing belt by it’s self there.

Timing Belt Replacement

Usually you're looking at $900-1100 at a dealership for parts and labor. If you can take the car to an independent Euro shop, expect more like $700-850 for the same job. If you're in range of upstate NY, I can do it for you for about $650 p/l (I do it in my own garage - no overhead:) ).

93 saturn

the timing belt on a 1.9l saturn is located under the valve cover on the left (passenger) side of the engine. this is the same on a DOHC or SOHC saturn motor. it is driven by the crank shaft and turns the cam shaft(s) in order to move the valves in the correct order. you should expect to pay at least 40 dollars for the belt itself. as far as installation... check you local service center.
