SOURCE: 2005 Suzuki Forenza timing belt breakage

hi im not sure on this particular model but there a few easy ways to check.... take the spark plugs out, remove the broken belt, shine a light down the holes and look for dammdge, if you cant see anything you can turn the crank but it is a tricky job because you can ruin the engine so if your unsure get a mechanic to do it.. or your other alternative is to remove the head and have a look but you will need a new head gasket kit, timing belt and tensioner kit etc .. it is important that you do not turn the engine over when the belt is disconected in any way UNTIL you know for sure that valves wont hit pistons, even bending a valve will not be very noticable but when its all back together you will deffinately notice and will have to pull it all back apart

SOURCE: Radiator flush for my suzuki forenza.

For the do-it-yourself kind of mechanic, there is a kit sold by Prestone that will help you back flush the system using an ordinary garden hose. Available at most any auto-parts store, Walmart & such. It has the basic instructions on the container but I'll give you an overview.

You will need a large container to catch the anti-freeze coming out, You could drain it by removing the plug at the bottom of the radiator first , or remove the lower hose & get most of it out & then just flush the remainder, back-flushing is recommended.

There is a piece that fits into the radiator caps position that helps to aim the water towards a container but sometimes you can't use it due to size restrictions & limitations on space & have to catch the fluid with a drain pan as it overflows.

You will need to install a backflush connector "T". You simply cut into one of the 2 heater hoses, preferably the return line, and install that piece using 2 hose clamps to secure it. The garden hose hooks there.

The engine should be cool, you can crack a head or block by drowning a hot engine with ice cold water.

Just turn the water on slowly, once the anti-freeze stops coming out & it's just water, remove the drain pan & recycle what anti-freeze you can. Remember, most anti-freeze is fatal to birds & animals, including large dogs & children, so clean spills or at least dilute it with water until it is not a threat.

once done, drain the system & refill with the mix you prefer for your area, usually not less than a 50/50.

good luck.

Hello, I need to replace the bulb in the instrument cluster in my 1996 Buick century V6.I'm unable to see my speedometer at night while I'm driving and it's a big problem.

First you will need 1/4 inch socket set, Philip screw driver, and a plastic panel remove tool. Pry off panels around your instrument cluster .
Remove four screws holding your cluster in place , pull forward and disconnect and remove. Replace all bulbs , verify repair then enjoy your day. Good luck

2005 mitsubishi outlander indicators working correctly but both interior dash indicator lights flashing on left or right switch or circut board ?

One of the contacts for the turn signal bulbs inside the instrument clusters is loose and may need resoldering. You will need to open up the cluster and check for continuity from the turn signal LED bulbs to the electrical connector plug. In our case, we found an open circuit.
Follow this procedure to troubleshoot this problem.
  1. Remove instrument cluster from the dashboard.
  2. Open the instrument cluster. Remove the back cover from the instrument cluster.
  3. Once the circuit board is exposed inspect the contact where the turn signal sockets are connected to the circuit board. In our case one of the turn signal socket pins was broken and not making contact with the circuit.

How can I replace dashboard bulbs on a 2005 grand caravan?

You must pop up the lower bezel cover first. Lift at the front towards the steering column. Lift up easy from the seat side only, theres 2 clipss that can be broken on the dash side. After poping up slide towards you. Remove the 4 screws holding the round bezel. Remove bezel towards you.Remove 4 screws that hold the instrument cluster. Tilt the cluster to remove. Blubs are PC74. Remove bulbs by turning counterclockwise.

Need to replace dashboard lamp on my 1997 Toyota

You need to pull the instrument cluster out of the dash. This is not a very hard job, but, you can damage the outer dash fascia as it comes off, past the steering wheel.

Move the steering wheel to its lowest position.
Remove the phillips screws that surround the instrument cluster fascia (under the top edge)
Pull the fascia off.
Remove the 4 screws that holds the instrument cluster to the dashboard
Remove the wiring connectors from the back of the cluster assembly, and pull it out. Replace the bulb, and reassemble. The wiring connectors cannot be mixed up, they are all unique.

I need to replace the check engine bulb, it's burnt out and i've been told i have to remove the dashboard. How hard is that?

you do not need to remove the dash, just the instrument cluster, to do this, remove the bolt in the hood latch, then the bolt on the other side of the steering column cover panel, then the panel will pop out, this will uncover two screws on the instrument cluster finish panel, remove these two screws, and the three pointing upwards in front of your gauge cluster, this panel will then come out, disconnect battery, remove the four screws and the instrument panel will come out, unlpug it, check to see which bulb is the service light, and replace!

Odometer Light

I have a 2005 Equinox and recently had the problem with the odometer bulb going out. Only the bulb needs to be replaced--NOT THE ENTIRE CLUSTER!! The process to remove and replace the bulb is a simple one. First tilt the steering wheel out of place, pull bezel straight out carefully, and with 7mm screw head remove the four mounting screws and pull cluster out. Disconnect cluster and remove burnt out bulb by giving it a counter clockwise quarter turn. Insert new bulb and turn it clockwise quarter turn. Plug in cluster again, insert the mounting screws, replace bezel. Very simple. The bulb replacement that I used was different than the original but has the same voltage and watts--the old one had a white base with frosted cover, while the new one had a beige base and clear--which made the new light brighter but very workable. I used 39118 Bulb 20210B24 DE66K2 12V 1.5w or this one should work: http://www.rmeuropean.com/Part-Number/Bulb-12V---15W-with-Beige-Socket-Base-for-Dashboard-Instruments-__62111391260_OSR_2439488A.aspx . I hope this helps..

The odometer is very dim and you can hardly see it 2002 cavalier with 39000 miles

The dashboard has lights inside to illuminate the gauges. It could either be LED or bulbs. You need to open the dash to get to the gauge. In most cars, the lights can be replaced from the back of teh gauges.
