2004 acura rsx trunk latch stuck & won't open. Fuse & acuator is ok The trunk won't open on my 2003 Acura RSX. I can open it manually if I climb in the trunk and release the switch. Releasing this switch will now leave the trunk unlocked even if I use my keyfob to lock the driver and passenger doors. I'm thinking I have a bad actuator. Can I replace this myself? Where do I get the part from?
I"m having trouble with locking and unlocking my hatch using my remote. I have flipped the white switch in the trunk and it acts as a child safety lock if flipped one direction. However I am not able to open the trunk this way. It acts as a permanent lock. So I figure the switch must be flipped the other direction and need to replace my actuator. Is this hard to do. It looks to me like it two switches holding a bracket to hold the actuator itself after plugging in the actuator from both sides. Is it really this simple?? Is there more to it???
You're right, and yes you can. Now the option is dealer($130+) or Napa( around $100), either way it's pricey, but fixes the problem.
