When heat is turned on while idling the car stalls out

My 99 Toyota stall when I turn the heat on while idling. This does not happen when I turn the heat on while accelerating. Once the heat is on everything is fine and it's runs normally. If I turn the heat on while stopped the engine sputters and will eventually stall after a couple of seconds.

Hi Karen Gray, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Does your car start easily? At an idle, turn your headlights on. When you rev up the engine do your lights get brighter?

The first lease expensive thing to do is take it to a shop and have them test the battery and alternator. Quick simple and easy to do.
if OK I'd ask them their thoughts. Possibly a blower motor starting to go out drawing too many amps. With their test tool on the battery they can tell if that's the case.

Almost sounds like the battery or alternator is bad.

Hi, Check all vacume hoses and fittings make sure there are no vacume leaks also make sure ignition timing is correct.

I would replace that tank (asap), so there can be a cap back on it.
With the cap off, the fuel system can't build up any pressure to hold the gas in the lines.

yes it could be a fuel related problem, when was your last tune up, it could also be a spark issue, old or corroted spark plugs will sometimes not put out the correct amount of heat to ignite the gas correctly till it runs for a while, if the check engine light isnt lit, it will almost have to be something simular to this

Its a 115000 btu multi fuel.it starts up,runs a few seconds,then shuts off.it doesnt smoke or anything wierd,it just shuts off.

It can be low fuel pressure issue or clogged fuel pump. Or its engine related issues,---------------
