P0410 Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction
I am very familiar with this failure code, you are going to have to replace the secondary air injection pump, it has a failed motor in it, the code really indicates no airflow from the pump when commanded to be on.

Check the fuse before you change the pump. I spend over $300 on a new pump and all needed was a $15 fuse. I think what happens is water gets in the pump and freezes in winter. The pump tries to turn on but is frozen in ice and blows the fuse rendering the whole system useless. Easy way to check is to diconnect a hose from the pump and switch the air conditioning fuse with AIR fuse and start the truck cold. They share the same fuse type. Trust me you know if the pump kicks on, lots of air comes out!

Secondary air injection check valve

Exactly what the code entitles, the air injection valves that shoot air in the exhaust to help burn excess gasses when the engine warms up the engine when it's cold are malfunctionning. When the engine is cold is just started, it uses what we call a open loop, the engine runs fuel maps and such with a stored program in the ECU that doesnt take in account all the sensors to allow a smooth start and warmup, then after it's warm enough and all, it goes to closed loop using all sensors to lessen the pollution. So when in closed loop, the ECU uses the oxygen sensors to adjust air/fuel ratio, but seeing as how the air injection is possibly jammed open or malfunctionning in some other way and sending air in the exhaust, the sensor think the engine is running lean and injects extra fuel to compensate, but since the reading is false, the engine is actually running rich and making you lose power. Try bypassing the air injection if you want to test this, just find the hose in the exhaust manifold that goes to some black plastic canister type thing and unplug the hose from the canister and find a way to jam it shut so no air can get in. If you sealed it good you should now have full power when the engine has run a while. Hope this helps!

2004 rainier egr valve location

Well, we have a couple problems here.

First of all, 2005 Buick Rainier is equipped with two different engines, 4.2L (VIN code "S") and the 5.3L (VIN code "P"). It would be really nice to know which one we are talking about.

Then, it doesn't really matter which engine your Buick is equipped with if you are looking for an EGR valve, because NEITHER of these engines is equipped with one.

Code 410

code po410 on a 2004 gmc envoy is that there is a problem with the secondary air injection system, you will need to check the fuse located in the engine compartment first, the next step is to start the truck cold and listen for the air pump to turn on for a few seconds, this will sound like a jet engine but not that loud, after it runs for 5 min and you dont hear it then you may have a bad pump which is located under the driverside on frame but if you hear the pump then you may have a bad valve, this valve is located on the exhaust manifold area and has a hose from the pump to valve, remove the hose and check for water, drain any water in the hose, also remove hose at pump and drain, the most common cause for this code is the valve is not opening and the air pump gets water inside and goes bad, thats the po410 code. a quick note; if fuse is blown look under truck near pump and check relay as it fills with water and blows fuse, if this is the case replace relay and blow water out of connector.good day.

Engine light came on, code po410 came up.

This has to do with the secondary air pump system, this system is used at cold start-up and involves three components; air pump, solenoid valve and a relay. Many times the valve becomes stuck or clogged, the relay has also been known to fail.

The code po410 for the secondary air injection system is displayed. I check the pump and it is working fine. I can not locate the one way check valve to determine if it is working?

I believe the check valve is an internal component of the electric AIR shut-off valve. I assume this is a 4.2L as other engines do not have AIR.
