Car won't start Buick Lesabre 1998

Gets spark..battery/terminals good, alternator good. It cranks and cranks does not turn over. I think its the fuel pump, is that located in the gas tank?

It could also be your cranshaft position sensor. My 1996 ran fine but I'd get a crankshaft position sensor code and all of the sudden my car would not start after leaving it parked for only an hour. It cranked over really fast like either no spark of no fuel. I think this sensor controls this. So time to replace it. It is easy to do with the right tools and is behind the harmonic balancer which needs to come off.

If you have not changed the crank sensor,CHANGE IT NOW..Also in warm climates NEVER use fuel with ethanol in it.If it was a anti theft alarm problem, you usually get a light on the dash.

1998 Buick LeSabre. This car started to act up while driving home, and when I went to leave again it would not start. Family thinks the engines no good, I think It could be a fuse or a computer? Could...

Sounds like to me your Fuel Pump might have quit on you. You would need to check Fuel Pressure with the proper testing equipment but a fast way if you are CAREFUL spray a little bit of carb cleaner while someone is cranking the car into the boot where the air filter is , if this VEHICLE has a Mass Air Flow sensor AVOID spraying into it or you will damage it. find another area to add this spray and see if it starts up.

My 2000 Lesabre will crank but will not start

first thing check for spark
next check fuel pressure
finally, while cranking, watch the check engine light
It should be on before you start cranking, but what does it do while you are cranking?

97 LaSabre won't start, will shut off when runnin, has had fuel pump replaced 3 times, and battery terminals are good. Any ideas?

The crank sensor will sometimes fail when the car gets hot. I have ran some of these cars before until they cut off. I sprayed come water on the crank sensor and the car restarted. Replaced crank sensor and the car did not come back again for that problem again.

I think the starter is going . The car does not turn over and crank like it should it starts to crank then it sounds like a wining noise

You say that the car will only turn over a little buit but not start. Is the car turning over and slowly dying out to nothing or is it just turning over and not starting?

LeSabre won't start...please suggest...

To check fuel supply, spray carb cleaner into air inlet while cranking. If there is no fuel, engine will start for a second on what you sprayed. if nothing, likely either there is enough fuel and plugs are already wet, or there is another problem. (perhaps contaminated fuel?)
