It's under the hood. when you depress the horn button that switch energizes a relay that in turn operates the horn, which needs more current than could be switched through the horn button. the relay and the fuse (it's a 20 amp fuse if my chart is right) are both in the underhood fuse box which should be on a fender, maybe near the firewall. you will have to open the box to see what you are after but there are only a few things in it. hope that helps.

The horn fuse is in the under hood fuse box. It is a 20 amp fuse. Good Luck

Horn on 2002 Gmc Sierra 1500 stopped working. Horn stated boleing fuses a couple of years ago and was just changing fuses to fix problem short term. Last time horn stopped working I changed fuse and it did...

Sounds like the horn itself is shorted out. You didn't mention if the blown fuses were a result of using the horn. A horn in construction is an electromagnet acting on a diaphram; if the electromagnet develops a short, it causes an overcurrent condition and will blow the fuse.

I have a 1989 gmc 1500 and cant get the brake lights to work i bought a new switch and they still dont work. also i got new bulbs my taillights work but the brake lights do not.

First I would check the fuses. You may have two fuse boxes. One inside and one under the hood. You can check for voltage on both sides of the brake switch to verify proper operation. That's where I would start.

I have a 1994 GMC Sierra 1500 and the horn doesn't work, i tried the cab fuse bow but no fuse there, where would the fuse be for the horn if there is one?

engine compartment relay box. There is also a horn relay there.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6022358-relay_check to check the relay and socket. These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

The switch in steering wheel may be shot. Also check wiring to horn and you can also try connecting horn straight to horn.
