We have a 94 Camry LE-4cyl - 2.2 liter with a stubborn rough idle problem. Diagnostics at the dealership suggested changing the front oxygen sensor and spark plugs. This made no difference. Diagnostics did not reveal any problems with timing or vacuum system. Technician recommended changing cap & rotor and adding a can of B-12 to the gas tank. We did...still made no difference. The technician also recommended we start replacing motor mounts even though they appear to be in good condition. I can't help but think it's something else as the engine seems to sputter a bit at resting idle.
Try chem12 spray. Clean mas, then spray into intake manofold w/engine runnign at 2k rpm. Check for oil leak in spark plug recesses causes a miss that the computer picks up and tries to balance.Did this to my car. it works
Check for a small vacuum leak speciallythe lines going to the throtle have someone look at it while you seat onthe car , idle ,FOOT ON THE BRAKE ! a way to test for leaks if to spray a lil wd40 around the lines an listen if the idle gets better or worst, sometimes the reason the engine runs to rough or lean are vacumm lines that are slightly broken.
