He wipers won't turn off all of the time. If I keep trying I can finally hit the spot on the switch and they will go off. That takes many, many tries. Is it the switch, relay, circuit board on the mot

The switch may have gone bad.. or the module that controls the wiper... if the fuse went bad, it would not work.. REMOVE the fuse if you want it to stop...

Try cleaning the wiper motor ground wire at it's grounding point or where it connects to the frame. Also when a van or car sits for a while, things begin to rust. Try cleaning your ground from motor to frame & clean your battery terminals. There is a possibility that you have a flat spot on the wiper motor but I doubt it. Try these things I've suggested & I hope this solves your problem. Good luck!

with wipers on open hood when they stop .give the wiper motor good hit,if wipers go replace wiper motor.if not try operating blade with hand to make sure they don't bind up(tight spot).also look in cowl area for debris.

need to check the intermittin wiper relay and try unpluging the wire under the dash that go to the wiper switch if the wipers continue to go haywire then its the wiper relays themselves if they stop working all together its the switch inside

When you turn off the switch, there is a second switch in the wiper motor that continues to run the wipers until they are parked. If the window where that switch does not keep the wipers running is too narrow, the momentum of the motor turning will carry the wipers past the end of that window—they will continue until they are not-quite-parked. But not-quite-parked, in an absolute sense, is not parked at all, and that switch will reestablish contact, running the wipers to try to get them to the parked position.

Once there, the overrun happens again, and the cycle repeats.

Beyond that, if that switch gets stuck it will keep running the wipers, parked or not.

Sometimes the wiper motor can be easily accessed, opened up, and that switch can be serviced and properly adjusted. Sometimes the motor needs to be replaced.

Find the connector that runs the wipers, and disconnect it while the wipers are running. The blades will stop where they are.

intermittently, and briefly, reconnect the wipers trying to get them to move only 5 or 10 degrees at a time. This will avoid the motor get up a head of steam. If the wipers stop responding to this once they are parked, the window that the switch considers "parked" is too narrow. If they just keep responding to the application of power, even when they are really in the parked condition, then the switch has arced shut.

its your wiper motor park sensor look at the wiper motor if the top is slipping around that the problem, nip it up and switch them on to park, keep turning the top till they park were you wont them to,, easy "A"

Hello, This is usually one of two problems.

1. The wiper motor has gotten weak or a dead spot in the motor windings. this would cause it to not start depending on where the motor stopped last. The motor is usually a easy change.

2. The other things it could be is you wiper switch has a bad connection or just in need of replacement. This could be a harder job depending on how much of the column you need to take apart to get the lever switch out.

I would lean toward number 1 its usually the more common problem. I hope my answer at least gets you in the right direction. I hope you have a great weekend:>)

Go to the parts store and has for a wiper motor relay. If it is duralast part number 19860, or GP Sorensen # MR11.

If the relay is sticking, it does not matter what you have the switch inside the vehicle set on.

As for the newer symptom of the wipers stopping on the dry spots, this could be the beginning of mechanical failure. The bushings on the wiper linkage could be hanging up/grinding. You should visually inspect all of the mechanical parts to make sure they are in working order.

hi the contacts in the switch would appear to be faulty if you can get to the switch try spraying the switch with wd40 or simular as if you can spray the contacts it may clean them if you want abit more positive diagnostic while wipers are working disconnect the wires from the switch when they won,t turn off if they continue to work check out the relay yates210456
