P0128 Nissan Sentra 2006 1.8 S

Replaced the thermostat and ECT sensor with no luck. After running the car for about 15 minutes the radiator fan got very loud. Windshield won't even defrost because the car blows cold air even when set to hot. Anybody have any suggestions?

Replace coolant thermostat.your coolant temp is below thermostat regulating temperature. or you can drain your coolant and replace with coolant to conform with your thermostat specs.

It could be just air in the system, or it could be the heater matrix just by your feet, fitted central dash, check to see if the two water pipes that go into the car from the engine compartment are hot if there is only one that is then thats your problem, but if they are both cold the problem is more to do with where the water is coming from, please let me know how you get on

Hi!
It appears we have an Air lock scenario and you will need to perform a system Bleed.
Park the vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap, start engine and leave to idle, turn heater on full and blower to max. When engine reaches operating temperature watch and listen near coolant filler, keep clear as gurgling and hopefully a boil over should occur. Top up with very warm coolant and wait as it may do it again.
Check for heat inside vehicle if warm replace coolant cap but keep an eye on temperature gauge as the ~Air lock may have moved on from heater matrix/core so proceedure needs to be carried out again from COLD.

2005 Nissan Sentra overheating. Changed the water pump. Did a radiator flush. What else could it be??

Some thing too check:
Make sure coolant level is up to line and clean (not dirty, do to clogged radiator, may need to be flushed or replaced).
Make sure air flow through the out side of radiator is clear (dirt, leaves, ect..) .
Make sure fan is working properly equip t (is not running too slow). Or Manual (belt driven) fan clutch is working properly, not loose or spinning too freely?
Check for broken or cracked fan blades itself.
Check radiator cap, (no gasket tears).
Could be thermostat going bad ?
Could be coolant temperature sensor/switch (from computer) going bad?
Check radiator hose(s) (too soft, may collapse)?
In some rare cases:
Timing could be off.
Could be water pump.
Could be blown head gasket(s).
Could have cracked head(s).
ECT..............Hope this was some help???

Where is the ECT sensor on the 2006 Nissan Sentra. the error code was PO128

P0128 is a code for engine temp below regulated temp. It usually sets when the t-stat goes bad and is either broken or stuck open. Either of which can happen on the sentra. Replace the t-stat (especially if you have noticed that your temp gauge has been reading a little low) and that should solve the problem.

Showing a engine service soon

The code that it is throwing is P0128, "Coolant Temp Below
Thermostat Regulating Temp. If your car is not running hot try this. If it is running hot take it to the shop or replace your thermostat yourself this is probably the problem.
Simply disconnect your battery, turn on the headlight switch for about five to ten minutes, and re-connect the battery. This is pretty simple, but will likely result in you losing your radio presets and perhaps some other small things like that.
This will reset your light. If it comes back on your thermostat or temper sensor may be bad.
