The car is very loud especially when starting the car. The noise remains loud but not as loud throughout the drive. There are no warning lights on in the car.
What kinds of noise? Whine or roar? Try to explain it the best you can. Where is the noise coming from, front/back?

If you are sitting in the car in park and you rev the engine, does the noise get louder?
It sounds like you have a hole somewhere in your exhaust pipe. It could be anywhere from right where it comes out of the manifold all the way back to the muffler, but since you say that it sounds like it is coming from the front of the car I would think that it is somewhere in between the manifold and your cat converter. They do sell epoxy that is supposed to work on exhaust systems. I've never tried it but you could check at your auto parts store and see what they think. The only other option would be to replace or have replaced for you the section with the hole. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!
It isn't dangerous not to fix it but if you live in a state where they do emission tests you will have some trouble when you try to pass that. As far as expensive, it can get kinda pricey. You can always take it to a place that doesn mufflers and have them look at it to give you a quote and if it's more than you want to spend tell them you will think about it. They should do the quote for free, just make sure you clear that up with them up front.
sounds like the same thing on my car

more of a roar I guess. It sounds like it resonates from all over, but more front than back. There is no change in the performance of the car.
just checked, yes reving the engine in park makes the noise much louder. By the way it is a manual shift.
is it dangerous to not fix this problem. Is it expensive to fix?
