2001 Suburban 4x4 will not connect

Hi, Was out 4x4 and got stuck. When I got out and looked at my truck, I noticed that only my right real wheel was spinning, even though I had pressed the 4x4 button. I can hear it connect, yet still no power to the other three wheels. Why?

4x4 is not all wheel drive. You still have differentials that will only allow one wheel to direct power most of the time, unless you have posi diffs. Many times you can have one front and one back wheel spinning, even though you are in 4 wheel drive, but you should have had one front wheel spinning as well as the back one when you were stuck. Possibly the one on the other side of the truck was spinning.

2002 suburban 4x4 has very loose steering at high speeds

One thing I can think of is that the steering gearbox adjustment is too far from the pinion and needs to be tighter. But then your mechanic would have known this and reset it. Only other thing could be that you have the incorrect backset in your front wheels and that would make the vehicle squirly at speed. That happened to me when the wheels I stuck on my vehicle were outset too much. Other than that, only other thing is there is no toe in on the front end. Without a certain degree of toe-in, there's no drag at all and the tires will flop from left to right at will.

I have a 1994 chevy suburban that when i turn right, the passenger side rear wheel try to drag on the street and the same for the driver side rear wheel when i turn left.

Hi,
If you have a Four-Wheel Drive Suburban, it sounds like it's in 4WD HIGH. Check the switch on the dash and change to AWD or 2WD....do not use the 4WD Low (unless you're stuck in mud).

2001 explorer sport trac, shakes bad when braking(like a bad rotor) inspected and everything looks new, checked runout on rotor with indicator and they look good, no real vibration when driving and dont...

does the shake come and go at different speeds? check your tie rod ends by lifting the front wheels off the ground and grab the tire and shake from left to right. if they are tight you probbably need to replace the rotors
