Battery light flashes off and on/car stalls

Battery light will occasionally flash. Sometimes while driving, sometimes while sitting idle. Has been doing this for months. No problems. Today I had the car on the highway 60-65 mph. After about 10 miles, the car just gave out. Waited 5 minutes . . . the car started right up. Drove another 10 miles - this time at a slower 50-60 mph. Battery light occasionally flashed. No stalling, no problems.

I'm no expert, but when that happened to me it was the alternator. You need to have it checked.

SOURCE: Hi my battery light comes

Alternator may be going out. Check voltage at battery with engine running. Should be 14-15 volts. anything lower will trip the light.

SOURCE: Ford fiesta keeps stalling

Hi

The problem is with your Idle Control Valve.

Look in the middle of the engine and you will see a plastic air box. Fastened to this will be the valve, a small cylinder with a wire connected to it, should be held on by 2 bolts

Undo the bolts and remove the valve. Spray WD40 into the two holes until it runs clear then rinse with petrol and let it dry.

Replace and bobs your uncle, should work fine.

You can replace the item for around £25

While driving 2006 impala down the road, car tries to stall lights interior and exterior flash, but car never stalls and regains power immediately?

You have a power wire rubbing the chassis somewhere in the harness that when it slightly touches metal the voltage drops and causes the flickering and will make the computer act up. Finding exactly where the short is occurring will be a tedious and time consuming inspection of the wiring.
