Rick is correct in his answer but the suspected spots are the oil cooler hoses from the radiator back to the oil filter adapter the pressure switch on the adapter and since you say both sides it should be the oil cooler lines good luck and powder up the lines and fittings and have someone else start the engine while your looking for the leak

Just a thought, can't you use a die in the oil, then use a black lite or something to spot the leak.

You might check crankcase pressure and pcv. If too much pressure, it will force oil out somewhere.

Spray down the engine with engine cleaner to get it clean. Then sprinkle baby powder on it. You'll see the wet spots right away once it starts leaking

Check and see if the EGR valve is leaking, to check this spray water on it at idle, if the water steams off the valve is leaking and is the source of your problem, also are you sure you hooked the new DPFE sensor up right? re-check it..

let your car idle go back to the tail pipe if it seems to be steaming alot , and or smells like antifreeze then you have a head gasket problem or a gasket leak alowing in directly into your engine

SOURCE: oil leak on top front of 2002 f350 super duty diesel engine

if it's a diesiel the it's coming from your oil line to your turbo. if it is gas then it could be a leak coming from a leaking valve cover gasket.

SOURCE: has a bad oil leak coming from under the car . The

The oil pressure sending unit screws into the engine block so you will need to look between the oil pan and the head.I suggest that you try tightening your oil filter first.

Oil leaking ,and car is smoking in front end,but check oil light doesnt come on

Sounds like a valve cover gasket or oil pressure switch. If you open the hood and look at the front and both sides of the engine using a flashlight you will probably be able to see where it is coming from. You may need/want to take it to a trustworthy mechanic to have it repaired.

Gas leaking front passenger side of ford windstar

Have you looked under the hood? (I don't mean to sound like a wise guy.) There are two shiney metal pipes one on the front of the engine and one on the rear as you look at it from the front. They run from right to left on the engine. These are the fuel racks that feed the fuel injectors, (assuming that you have a 3 litre or larger v6 engine). These can concievably rust at the left, (passenger), end and blow gasoline out the passenger side. It is also possible that gas could be leaking anywhere on the engine and roll off the passenger side of the engine or if the fuel line on the driver's side has rusted over a cross member of the frame and possibly roll to the passenger side. Also, there is pretty good pressure on the fuel line when it is running. If there is a rust hole on the right side of the line itself, it could spray to the passenger side, hit something and drip off from there. These are just possibilities. Good luck. Jeff M.

2002 sunfire ecotec blowing out oil from front of engine

The front of engine is usually where the serpentine belt is located. The side of the engine toward the front of vehicle is different. I'm not trying to split hairs, Just trying to understand? Is it coming out in the area of the belt?
When you had it on the ramps, was the engine running? One thought is too much crankcase pressure?
There is, the oil filter could leak, oil pan gasket, head gasket. Is there oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil? It's tough to find a leak if it isn't leaking when you check it.

Oil leaking on exhaust manifold and smoking on 1998 nissan altima 2.4

You need to find out just were the oil is leaking from to start with .I have just done my Mercedes with the same problem valve cover gasket was leaking .Oil was leaking down the side and on the plugs that are hot ,, so it burns off the oil ,this is what you can smell. If other items are doing the same you will need to do that part as well..The breather system may be blocked up also if it is not breathing oil will build up . Good luck

My 99 cavalier 2.2 is leaking water / coolant on the left hand side of the engine area. It leaks while driving and while the car is not running. As far as i can tell its not leaking into the oil and not...

no freeze plugs are located on the sides of that engine... the front and back when viewed under hood.... i believe your resivoir- overflow is on the same side as you describe the leak so id check that first otherwise it seems youve a thermostat housing, intake manifold leak or another waterpump issue

White smoke comming from the left side of the egine

If your smoke is coming out of the tailpipe......White smoke usually means that water or antifreeze is being burned by your engine, blue smoke is oil and black smoke is fuel ( too much fuel) . If it is coming from under the hood you need to figure out where it is coming from.

1995 Camry Oil Pressure Sender location

Yes, is it the 4 or V6? I think it is either the oil pump shaft seal, or the crankshaft nose seal. The second one can be damaged by work in that vicinity such as removal of the crankshaft sprocket.

The oil pressure sender is not at that location on the 4-cyl or the 3VZ V6, but on the 1MZ V6 it is on the front face of the engine block below the alternator mount.

Hi i have a 1994 dodge caravan it is leaking oil can this be fix im worry that we would have to save money for a van for my kids thanks

The Chrysler minivan products all had leaking problems. I have had 5 or 6 different Dodge or Plymouth minivans from 88 to 99. How bad is it. The most common thing is Valve cover leaks. Front and rear seals in the engine leak as well as the oil pan gasket. If its leaking a little bit at a time open the hood and look at the front and rear of the engine. Do you see grease and oil that has gone down the sides of the engine? Do you see a lot of grease on the engine with some clean streaks going through it. You may be able to see where its leaking from. If you know someone that knows what their doing have them change the leaky gasket/s. If not you can probably have it repaired for less than buying another van unless other things are seriously wrong with the van.
Hope this helps... Dale

Have a 99 ford zx2 stalls at idle showing code 1383

It might be a hose that runs from the front of the engine compartment, under the thermostat, around to the back, it might have some words on the line stating fuel ... anyway , where it comes around to the back side of the engine compartment, is where they usually 'tear' before it ends at the elbow(causing a vacuum leak). to test this easily either pull the rear end off(doesn't appear to be 'clamped') and the engine will stall. or spray some ether(or starter fluid) near the rear end , and the egine will idle up. Hope that helps.

P.S. I do not know the name of the hose or the name of what it connects to in the back.
