93 Accord belt squeak at start up

My car squeaks everytime I start it and it has been sitting for a while. Meaning long enough to cool off. It does not squeak if the engine has been running. I replaced both my powersteering and alternator belts and still have the same problem. I tightened both belts and even used belt dressing. Can anyone help me with my problem?

I just replaced the belts yesterday. I just got done tightening the alternator belt again. I have almost bottomed out. I will try to clean the dressing off. I don't think it's the pulley being worn. It looked good to me while I was changing the belts. Wouldn't that cause it to squeak more than while starting? Thanks for your help guys. I will try everything.

You may need to get an aerosol solvent to clean the belt dressing off, it's terrible noisy stuff. Chances are the alternator belt needs to be just a little tighter. You also may need to get a slightly smaller belt if the adjustment has bottomed out.

When i turn on my car i hear squeaking sound

Belts? Mice? Hallucination? ALL DEPENDS ON WHERE THE "SQUEAKING" IS COMING FROM.

Open the hood. If the squeaking is coming from the area of the serpentine belt, it is probably time to replace your belt. Also, check all fluid levels.
If the squeaking is coming from a particular pulley (such as the air conditioning compressor or the power steering hydraulic pump), there may be a problem with whatever the pulley is attached to.
If the squeaking appears to be coming from outside of the car, you are scaring the mice or hallucinating.

Truck squeaks at start-up and goes away after 2 seconds...at times when I'm driving it will squeak and the voltage meter drops below 14 while squeaking. get off the gas and it stops and everything goes...

Your serpentine belt tensioner may be bad,not holding enough tensioner and not letting your alternator keep a charge on your battery, get some one to sit in your vehicle, open hood, have them start it while you watch the belts turn and have them rev the engine up to see if the belt turns loosely.another thing to look at is the A.C.compressor locking up .Power steering pump could be locking up,just check it out while it's running and see.

I drove my 97 blazer yesterday and ran the a/c. It did not run cold but was cool. After getting back from my 4 hour drive, I went home and let it sit for a couple hours. When I went back out to start...

Probably the compressor causing the belt to squeak. Try spraying just a squirt of wd40 on the drive side of the belt. It the noise goes away, its the belt. If not, its the compressor drive.

Weird squeaking noise from under hood started from sitting an hour after being driven ,noise goes away when accelerating but comes back when not ,when parked noise is constant a type of squeaking noise

You should have your belts checked for proper tension. If they're squeaking when the engine is at a low RPM then they are most likely loose and need to be tightened. However, that squeak may also be an indication that one of the tensioners in the belt's line may be wearing down. If that is the case the tensioner will need to be replaced since the bearing inside is worn down beyond the point where lubrication would be useful.

My 91 honda accord is squeaking when i start it then it goes away

Hi:
That type of squeak is usually caused by a loose or slipping belt. You should check or have someone check the condition and tension on the belts and tighten them as needed. I recently put a new belt on my daughter's honda, and a couple weeks later had to re tighten it, as it stretched a bit after installation. A little more tension on it, and it is good to go now!

Belt squeaks when AC turns on

Your belt is not tight enough. Are you using the power steering pump to adjust? (right way) or doing something else? Keep tension on the pump and tighten the pivot bolt first.

Car squeaks at idle when warmed up

it could very well be just your serpentine belt is old, they usually squeak when worn. To solve that you can buy a spray at any local autoparts store to stop the noise for good, its called belt dressing. a slurping noise could be a range of things, the most common is your
a/c isn't fully charged with fluid, the noise your hear is the compressor trying to pull more fluid in **** only getting air, hence the slurping
