When i attempt to start my 1990 chevy Cheyenne pickup witch has a 350 V8 in it, the key ignition goes over and the check engine light comes on indicating that the ecm is good, however when i try to turn the key over, the starter is working, however there is absolutely no spark going from the distributor to the ignition coil, to the engine, i have had the distributor rebuilt, and everything in it mostly replaced, and the ignition coil replaced as well, including the module in the distributor replaced and checked as well, however there is still no spark, is the ECM bad, even though the check engine light comes on, because there is still no spark going to the engine.

Hi Nsilguero,
I apologize for the delay in responding.
From your description, I'm leaning toward a timing chain problem, first stretching, then skipping and finally breaking.
If you're getting voltage to the coil and still getting no spark, there is a test I'd like you to try.
Take off the distributor cap and have someone turn the engine over while you eyeball the rotor. Is it spinning?
This going to take some back and forth interaction. Comment me back with the results. We will proceed from there.
Mike
