Good day and welcome to FixYa!
If that's the case then you may need a map light bulb replacement. This surely is busted. Replacing the bulb may resolve the issue.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

SOURCE: Map lights

Just wondering if you ever found a solution to this problem. I have a similarly equipped 01 SuperCrew and the Map lights do not work independently. All come on when the door is opened and all work via dome light switch on dash, but none will come on when I try to switch them independantly. Everything else works fine. I suspect a bad relay, but all relays are the same part number and I have swapped places with no change in results.

Ok, assuming fuse #24 (30 Amp) and fuse #5 (10 Amp) of the rear power block is good...
Front and rear map lights and sun visor lights are out .
Glove box and door lights DO work.
Leaves only one common wire that is orange and blue from the rear distribution block that is broken somewhere. A short should have blown fuses or melted the wire.

Interior Lights will not come on, I checked the fuse and it's still good. The map lights and the 2 interior lights above the rear doors are not working.

check with a ohm meter at light sockets for 12v . If you do not have voltage, possiably a broken wire leading away from fuse block or worst case scenario behind fuse panel. Light wireing could be a complete harness for all lights mentioned. Good luck.

HELP! Interior lights (map and dome) dim but do not go out. Fuse removed.

There is a short between the dome light and the door switches, this can be caused by something as simple as water damage. check all the wires and switches before you think it is the BCM.

Often the interior lights are looped on one circuit.
It only takes one bad connection to stop the 12v volts flowing. I would start with any connection that can be exposed to water or rust. Doors would be a good start.
Grab yourself a cheap multimeter and probe each connection (after removing the light bulb / lamp) for the presence of 12 volts DC.
If you have an electrical drawing use the 50/50 rule. ie check for power at the 50% point (halfway in the drawn circuit). If there is power at that point, check again at the next approximate 50% point ie downstream, continuing until you narrow down the area wit the problem. NOTE: If there is no power at the initial 50% point (the very first place you checked) work your way backwards (or upstream) in the circuit towards the fuse box, again using the same 50/50 rule.
If you are not confident, take it to a reputable automobile electrician.
Good luck,
Steve

Map light fuse on 2008 f 350????

The interior map lamps are powered buy the battery saver relay ( non serviceable relay ) Which is powered by Fuse #25 ( cab fuse panel ).
This is for the engine compartment and illuminated vanity lamps, as well as the map lights.

The FET ( Field-Effect Transistor ) shows the fuse #9 also on it. ( marked interior lighting ), which power the interior lamps ( door / switch ).

Could be a few things if both those fuses are OK.

1. The map / interior lamp combos are usually dual element bulbs, which means if the interior lamps ( door or dimer switch on headlamp panel ) are OK, it could still be a burn out bulb.

2. The FET is having an issue from a dead short ( blown bulb or dead short to ground ). Until the short is correct, the FET will not turn back on.

Start with checking Fuse #9 ( marked as Fuse #8 in the diagram, but that shows headlamp ), which is to the interior lamps, and drives 1 side of the FET.
