SOURCE: stalling

YOU MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE IT FIXED BY NOW BUT IT'S YOUR SPEED SENSOR. SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY 99 5 SPEED. ONCE IT WAS REPLACED IT RAN LIKE A CHAMP.

Could be crankshaft position sensor ! after a crank sensor is replaced it needs to have a relearn done , Dealer or some other independent repair shop . Take it an have it checked out , unless you have a factory scan tool or a professional type scan tool .

1999 dodge ram 5.2 runs about thirty miles then stalls after running fine just suddenly loses all power sputters backfires engine stumbling badly. crank it up 4 or 5 hours later runs a little then same...

General advice:After warming up track the problem:sparkplugs (even new can have the ceramic parts broken/cracked /wiring (after warming up the isolation get's soft, can loose spark power)/ignition coil(s) (gets hot, stop runnig),running reach, fuel pump/fuel pump relay.Best guess:fuel pump mallfunction (low pressure) related, fuel filter cloged/water in the fuel/fuel line cloged/chipped. Cheers, hope u figure it out,let the people know.

1999 Dodge Ram Van doesn't start,3500- 1 ton, 5.9- v-8 it's got 158,500 miles, 1) doesn't start 2) No spark (Condition: Good fuel pressure)

I'm not familiar with dodge but I know Ford's and GM's have ignition modules that go out and you lose spark.

1997 dodge ram won't start. My fuel pump does not run and coil won't spark. Iv'e checked fuses and relays and they look fine. Could a bad fuel pump cause the asd to kill power to the coil?

First check any ignition/fuel related fuses. Check to make sure you have 12 volts coming into the pump and coil. If nothing to the fuel pump replace the fuel pump relay - if you do have power to the fuel pump then replace the pump. If nothing is coming to the coil it is either an ignition relay or a wiring issue. If you have 12 volts to the coil but no spark then replace the coil.
Also the fuel pump/relay would not kill the coil.

1996 Dodge Ram 1500 kept stalling while driving now won't start

First off you can test the fuel pump 2 ways
1.have a assistant turn on the ign to on while you listen for the pump to run at the gas cap (gas cap off).
2.find the valve on the fuel rail looks like a a/c or valve stem, take the cap off and press the needle and if fuel comes out then it's not the fuel pump.

But from a lot of EXPERIANCE on dodge engines the stalling and restarting issue is ignition related i.e crank or cam sensor which will throw a diagnostic code of engine misfire xxx cylinders.

So If its one of those sensors then you will not have any spark, and staring fluids will not fire the engine.
As for the headlights flickering they get there power through a relay straight from the battery,so I would look at the relays under the hood and find the one for the headlights and swap it out with the horn relay as most of the relays will have the same numbers.

The crank sensor is about 70.00 and the cam sensor is about 50.
depending on where you get them (dealer or aftermarket)
the cam sensor is the round plastic thing under the dist cap,and the crank sensor is on the pass side under the head into the top of the transmission bell housing and it's a 2hr job to change because of it's location is really hard to get to.
Hint -take the breather off and place a rag over the intake and a board from the radiator core support to the intake to lay on,it has 2 10mm bolts and the wiring harness unplugs from underneath.
