It's pretty basic on this. Test your clip by plugging it into the coil first, and make sure that it is the correct one. If yes, you need to simply cut the old plug off and connect the wires to your new one (in the right order) with a simple but connector sold at any auto shop/parts store or electrical shop.

SOURCE: engine code p0307 cylinder #7 misfire

It could be carbon deposits on valve seats keeping valves from totally closing. You can try getting you a can of motorcraft PM3 top end engine cleaner and get engine up to operating temp then remove one of the small vacuum lines from the intake and draw the contents of the can slowly into the engine.After you have drawn in the contents shut engine off and let it soak for about 45 minutes then crank it back up and let it run until it clears. Now it will smoke like a forrest fire while you are doing this so don't be alarmed,just tell the neighbors you are spraying for mosqitos.This may cure the problem. If not you may be looking at a valve job.
This can be verified with a compression test if this is what is causing it.

SOURCE: 2003 Chevy Venture misfiring

The injector is a good possibility, although you should check for spark in the wire first, as the electrical is the weakest link in the system. Put a spare plug in the end of the wire with the plug resting on metal, then have someone crank the van to see if you have spark that far, test and replace spark plug, (do not get shocked!) then look into a new injector or a good cleaning.

SOURCE: 2004 Audi A4 misfire

it is always a good idea to stay with o.e.m parts and yes there is updated parts in the newer coils. and yes the M.A.F will also cause misfire faults but will not make check engine light flash or make car shake and shudder. also check you wire harness going to your coils make sure your ground wires are not cracked. That could be the main culprate. good luck hope this helps

Replaced #5 coil and all plugs on 06 jeep liberty vehilce still shows misfire on #5 cylinder after clearing all codes

it sounds like it could be number 5 injector. I suggest you swap number 5 injector with one of the others and see if your misfire moves to this cylinder

2005 Jeep Liberty has hesistation after it warms up. Code says misfire cylinder 4 replaced coil, wires, fuel pump, fuel filter

Check injector pulse to make sure the computer is commanding the injector on and off. Check that the plug isn't cracked. Check cylinder compression if all ok you may need and injector but you could probably try an injector cleaning service( not the stuff you throw in the tank)

2005 jeep liberty engine misfire cylinder 5

A code P0305 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plug or wire
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer

If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

2002 jeep liberty. Codes P0300,301, 302

P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.

A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.

Symptoms may include:
* the engine may be harder to start
* the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
* other symptoms may also be present

Causes: A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* Faulty spark plugs or wires
* Faulty coil (pack)
* Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
* Faulty fuel injector(s)
* Burned exhaust valve
* Faulty catalytic converter(s)
* Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
* Faulty camshaft position sensor
* Defective computer

Possible Solutions
- If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
- If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

P0301 Code - Cylinder #1 Misfire
P0302 Code - Cylinder #2 Misfire

A P0301 or P0302 code means that the the car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #1 or #2

Symptoms may include:
* the engine may be harder to start
* the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
* other symptoms may also be present

Causes: A code P0301 or P0302 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* Faulty spark plug or wire
* Faulty coil (pack)
* Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
* Faulty fuel injector
* Burned exhaust valve
* Faulty catalytic converter(s)
* Running out of fuel
* Poor compression
* Defective computer

Possible Solutions:
- If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

We have an 02 Liberty 3.7L, here at my repair shop, after customer replaced, spark plug's and all coil pack's, brought it here to my shop, was running with two cylinder's miss, did cylinder compression test, no compression on two cylinder's, remove valve cover's, found two rocker arm's off, remove cylinder head's, and found that on those two cylinder's the valve seat's had drop, keeping the valve open, and that's why the two rocker arm's had come off, do a cylinder compression test, could be the same thing, hope this was very helpful.

Likely the quickest way to find one is at a scrapyard. Next and likely only other option is to order one from a dealer. Before installing, check the connections to make sure that wiring attached inside the remaining plug is still connected.

Check Engine Light P0302 Code

p0302 is a cylinder #2 misfire. when they swiched the coils did the misfire follow the coil or did it stay on cyl.#2. if the problem stayed with #2 they need to pull the cylinder head and check the valves with known good valves. have them install it into the cylinder head with valve lapping compound and run a pattern. if the cylinder head comes out with a good pattern replace the valves with the new pieces and reassemble the motor. if not the vehicle will need a new cylinder head
