Radio will stay on after I turn off my truck.

I turned off my truck, took the key out and the radio stayed on. This has never happened before. My radio does NOT stay on until I open my door; it has always shut off when I shut off the engine. If I manually turn off the (factory) radio (clock still stays on) will this turn into an electrical problem eventually (i.e. dead battery issues)?

This sounds like an ignition switch problem.
The accessory is staying on after it should be off.

SOURCE: with the key off and the door open, the radio stays on.

The key switch is probably worn with two affects it may be you can remove the key before it is properly turned off or is worn internilay.

SOURCE: battery keeps dying due to radio+clock staying on

your radio is staying on? you have a bad door switch.the bcm does not see door opening and thus does not turn radio off. most likely the drivers door.

Have 1998 rava 4 radio stays on with key removed can only turn off with button clock stays lit all the time also pulling fuse turns both off

Could be that the ignition switch is not turning off the trunk line that feeds the radio, etc. Needs replacement.

How do I turn off radio

If you just turn the car off one notch, the radio will stay on. If you turn the key all the way off and remove it, it will stay on for a short time delay, OR until you open one of the doors which will shut if off with the key out.

When engine turned off and keys removed, the radio and interior console remain on. They don't turn off once the door is opened, and the doors will not lock unless you manually lock with the key. Went to...

Sounds like you have a short to power. there are several wires that connect to your radio and console . one is the ignition wire that kills power to the radio and console when the key turns off. What has probably happened is that wire has found a constant power source from another wire and it constantly stays on. finding this short is very difficult because it is under the dash so you might want to take it to a professional. Also if the van has the feature where the radio doesnt cut off until you open the doors, then your short may be somewhere in the sensors on the doors.

It very well could be the BCM....only way to check it is to have a full featured scan tool, and check out the systems.

Radio won't turn off.

The radio should still shut off after 20 minutes even if the door is not opened. If it stays on longer than this there is still a problem..
