ECP LIGHT REMAINS ON WHILE DRIVING AUDI A4 2005 MODEL...WHAT COULD BE THE CAUSE?

EPC light on can be triggered by (for example) unplugged or otherwise not working MAF (mass air flow) sensor.

Have your car scanned for codes (Autozone, or someone with VCDS (VAGcom) and post your codes.

2006 VW new Beetle Convertible check engine light, ecp, and asr lights keep coming on. Car sometimes runs rough or stall.

NO! The dealer is just wasting your money. Tell them stop guessing and get things fixed. Go to AutoZone or similar and have them read codes for you. The problem with all the lights probably related.

The ecp light has come on

Its actually EPC light. This light indicates to check the brake system. Its indicating towards brake assembly parts. The brake light, brake fluid, brake wirings, brake caliper, brake pads, the brake switch. On most of the cases its brake light switch problem causing the EPC light to come ON.there is also recall for this problem.Confirm this with your VW dealer. If its under recall, they will replace the switch for free. The brake lamp switch recall includes 99-07 beetles and jetta also.------------------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

the map code may be a symptom, not the problem. I would have a shop that specializes in VW check it out. Auto Zone isnt much help unless you are buying oil or car wash soap.

I bought a 2006 VW polo in November 09 with approx 70,00kms since that time I have driven 12,000kms and used 14 ltrs of oil!!!!!!! The ecp light has come on 3 times, the last time could not drive car, had...

This is quite an excessive amount of oil consumption. Unless you have noticed a leak under the car I would say that it probably has an internal part failure. You may be burning the oil in a cylinder with bad rings, or a gasket may be sending it into you cooling system.
I would have a good service technician check the engine out to find where the oil is going.
You shouldn't use more then a 1/2 a liter between oil changes unless you have a leak.
