The dipstick is located under the air cleaner on the right-hand side, identified by a yellow ring.

The dipstick for the transmission on a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder is on the passenger side of the engine. The dipstick is held in by a 10mm bolt. I guess these transmissions are not meant to be checked by the DIY'er. However, once your remove the bolt, You can check the fluid level. Remember to put the bolt back!

2005 dodge magnum with 2.7 six transmision does not have dip stick to tube for one how do you service to proper level

I assume you are talking about the tranny dipstick. There is none. Most cars built in the 21st century have sealed for life of vehicle, transmissions. Only a dealer can check the fluid level

Where is the dip stick to check the transmision fluid how do you check the transmision fluid?

2005 Chevy Malibu has a sealed transmission with no dipstick, so you can't check the transmission fluid level without getting underneath the car and looking at the transmission itself.

Locate the transmission. Look for a small plug with a hex bolt on the passenger side of the transmission, adjacent to the passenger side front tire.

Start the engine and let it warm up to regular operating temperature. Remove the hex bolt from the plug hole in the side of the transmission with a wrench or socket. If transmission fluid flows freely from the hole, the fluid level is correct. If it barely drips, or no fluid comes out, the transmission fluid level is low.

Where to find transmision dip stick

there is no dipstick, you can access the transaxle by lifting the car up. It is located on the drivers side right by the wheel. Remove the bolt at the top of the pan, if the fluid dribbles out there is enough, if not you need to fill it.

2005 Pontiac problem?

You didn't say which motor you have, but on my 3.6L, a plug is located on the RH side of the trans axle assembly. Just above the bottom tranny pan. Don't remove the plug when the engine is off or it will drain out ATF fluid. Start the engine and warm up to around 200 degrees. With the engine still running, remove the plug and fill to spill. When the level is right at the opening, reinstall the plug and you're done. I will attach a picture of this plug. Looks to be a 10mm.

Checking and servicing the automatic transmission

The cap your reffering to is the dip stick. You need to remove the 10mm bolt that holds it in order to check/fill the trans. The trans takes Nissan J Matic fluid ONLY use of any other fluid will damage the trans and void your warranty(this is why it is bolted in). You will see it printed on the handle of the stick when you remove it. You can use the drain plug on the trans pan to drain the old fluid out and then refill it at the tube with a funnel.
