You either have a grounded injector harness or a faulty computer.

IF YOU GOT CYLINDER MISFIRE.OR OPEN FUEL INJECTOR.THAT WILL CAUSE THE PCM TO ENRICHEN FUEL MIXTURE.TO ADJUST TO DEAD CYLINDER.WHICH ACT AS A LARGE VACUUM LEAK.THATS WHY YOUR EXHAUST TAIL PIPES HAS A RAW FUEL SMELL AND WHITE SMOKES.

thats usually a sign of a vacuum leak, recheck and make sure you don't have any loose hoses, or cut intake seals

There are numerous things that can caise a vehicle to idle rough. Could be a throttle posistioning sensor. pcv valve, dirty fuel filter, worn spark plugs and wires, possible O2 sensor. If the vehicle has not had a tune up yet, I would recomend one. Even if it doesn't fix your issue, the vehicle is ten years old and probably needs on anyways. Start there, then rule out the cheaper stuff next. pcv valve and fuel filter, inexpensive and it's probably time anyways. If you are getting an engine code, stop in to advance auto. They'll plug it in for free. If your still having problems, you may have to break down and tajke it to a mechanic to get plugged into a real diagnostics machine.(probably run you around $100)

1998 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE wont idle runs really rough

Look for a vacuum leak at the intake manifold. Spray (flammable) brake clean around the area while the engine is running and look for the idle to change. Also check for a vac leak at the brake booster by pinching the Vac supply line and see if the idle changes.

Very possible cause. There are two drivers in the engine computer for the 4 injectors. A mechanic would unplug the injectors and test the circuits from the ECM and resistance in the injectors.

Rough idle for 93 chevy blazer 1500

I Have a couple of questions. First question does engine surge when idleing cold? 2. Does engine start quickly without a lot of cranking, Cold or warm? 3. Do you have funny smell at highway speed, or after you stop? With out this info and your imput, I would only be guessing. I am retired mechanic of 25 years. and would like to help if u need me.

Before you get carried away changing anything else, run injector cleaner through your tank of gas. I have patiently solved my idle problems several times like that. Consider our injectors are 10 years old now. Clean or change PCV as well. Dale
