I think you can have a head gasket leak and not get coolant in your oil. You may be getting enough in there that it's causing that cylinder to not fire and give a rough idle.

I have a 92 Lexus Es300 with 213500 on it, I just had the head gaskets changed, new water pump, timing belt, thermostat, and the blower motor is working fine. But, I still aren't getting any heat in the...

Might not be a hot enough thermostat or make sure there is enough vacuum in the vacuum-hoses. The heater controls might not be getting enough vacuum to operate the flaps inside the heater compartment where the heater-core is. Or something wasn't hooked up right when the head-gaskets were done.

What are the steps to replace the water pump on 1996 lexus es300

Hi, you will need some special tool like : External torx (star)socket, pully and regular tool (# 10,12,14 etc..metric) to change the water pump. First, you need to clear the room for the job because such as Two belts -(alternator,air cond., pump ect and pully) need to disconnected and take out the plastic cover, tire e.t.c. There are about ten bolts. The water pump is inside the plastic cover which turns by the timing belt. I strongly recomment to change the timing belt at the same time ($30.00-timing belt- It last about 80000-90,000 miles). Remember to mark the timing gear carefully when you take the timing belt out. This will help you put the timing belt back in the right degree for the engine perform. Water pump can only replace after the timing belt is disconnected.

Need to locate t-stat on car -lexus es 300 1993

The thermostat is located on the timing belt side belt side of the motor. Look below the alternator, there should be a metal pipe secured to the block with a 12mm bolt. The pipe is attached to the lower radiator hose.

How to get a crankshaft pulley off to change timing belt

if you have the bolt out already you can use two short pry bars one each side of pulley and pry
evenly. it should slide off. If not you can use a big 2 jar puller. If you don't have the bolt out you can use a air impact or use a change wrench to hold pulley while you loosen the bolt with a long 1/2 inch ratchet. It is a 19 mm head bolt.
