The oil pressure sending unit is located in the block of your engine. You'll find it close to the oil filter is attached.
It's approximately 1 1/2 inch in diameter and will appear to
be made of plastic which most of them are.
Attached to the sending
unit will be a wire with two conductors. The wire is attached to the
sending unit via a clip so that it can be pulled gently off, the sending
unit removed with the correct sized socket and replaced with a new one
in reverse order.
Be careful when removing the sending unit because like I said above, some are made of plastic, and are usually formed around metal.
Clean the engine block surface around the area of the unit, and be sure to apply a little bit of oil to the
block contact surface of the sending unit (just as you would when
putting on a new oil filter).... This assures a leak-proof seal.
You will want to do this while the engine is cold so that you don't burn yourself with hot oil, or metal components.
It's easy to fix, and the part costs about $9.00 at Advance Auto Parts.
If you use a ramp... Be sure to chock your rear tires, and use your parking break so you don't get run over if the vehicle slips out of gear.
Same goes with a jack... but be sure to use jack stands...
Hope this Helps!
