BMW 745i .2002.Noise comes from the engine if car is started after it has been standing for sometime. Before ,the noise would stop after the engine has been running for more than 5 minutes ,but now it does not dissapear and the more acceleration you put ,the worse the noise. The noise is on the right hand side of the engine but underneath.
Sounds like a bad or stuck hydraulic lifter. Try doing an oil change to a high-quality full synthetic. Check you actual oil pressure and buy a mechanics stethoscope to narrow down the noise.
As the noise is not described, a suggestion to check the exhaust manifold , gasket or flex section of the exhaust pipe to manifold may be in order
the flex section has a habit of cracking under the stainless steel braiding

The check engine light could be any number of things and the only way to find out is have the codes scanned. The brake light issue is common on E46 3 series. It is an issue were the brown ground wire that goes into the lamp housing melts at the connector causing a loose ground connection. The connector needs to be replaced and also add additional grounding wires to prevent further issues. And for fuel additives either use the cheveron techron, or the bmw fuel additive(the bmw stuff is the exact same thing, so just use which ever is cheaper).

there are several things that can cause the wipers in your car not to work. if you have verified the fuses are good and verified power to your wiper motor, I would try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 15 minutes, then checking operation of the wipers. by the way, which fuses did you check?
SOURCE: 2003 BMW 325i will start but making noise
It might be a faulty power steering pump. Try checking the level of the power steering fluid. It is probably best you have your power steering system checked by a mechanic.
Does the noise occur only when the vehicle is moving?
Try moving the steering wheel from side to side, while stationary (but don't do it too often, or you might damage something). If the noise is still present when the car is stationary, then it probably is the power steering system.
If the noise only occurs while the vehicle is moving, it could be a problem with the differential/final drive, or even wheel bearings.

The brake pads have sensors in them, when the pads get worn down to the sensor the light comes on letting you know its time to replace. this happens well before the pads are completely gone to reduce wear on the rotors. You should have the brakes replaced and the sensor also.
SOURCE: Engine noise
Hi there. There might be a number of things to consider here, but the two worst things (most expensive) that it might be is either piston slap or crank rumble. Now, given that you have changed the power steering pump, it sounds like you might have an external noise and so my advice prior to you having changed the power steering pump would have been to disconnect the pump belt firstly. If the noise was still there, then there is nothing wrong with the power steer system. So you must now do the same with the alternator and A/C pump belts. Have all the belt drives (apart form the cambelt of course) disconnected - if the noise goes away, you have narrowed down the problem area. If the noise is still there, you probably have crank rumble or piston slap. Best way to diagnose piston slap is during the warm-up period of the engine, this is when the pistons are not quite oval and is effectively lose in the cylnder walls. To determine this the most effective way is to play with the accelerator whilst accelerating gently, accerate and then just back-off on the throttle slightly, if you hear the rattling noise, you can play with the sound by easing back on and off the accelerator. You'd actually do the same for crank rumble, but the difference in sound is the crank rumble will sound heavier whereas the piston slap will sound lighter and of higher tone. If that sounds like what you have (either piston slap or crank rumble) then it really is no big deal and I'd wouldn't worry about it too much. If you do think that this is what you might have, then just make sure you are using the right grade of oil and it's a quality oil and all should be fine. Hope this helps. Scottech.
