I only got 4 miles down the road like this before it finally stalled out and I got it towed. When I had 6 codes show up (I cant remember which codes they were) since it happened I had plenty of help full suggestions (by people that drive 20 year old vehicles) this what done so far changed the oil new transmission filter and fluid new battery replaced maf sensor map sensor o2 sensors (all 4 of them) tps sensor cleaned the carburetor new spark plugs new spark plug wires new distributor cap and ignition rotor new ignition coil as well as plenty of lucas cleaner in the gas tank (there is no egr valve Don't ask me why I went nuts trying to find one there was never one on this engine) but i still have a problem when starting the engine still shakes (but not as bad as before) when in park i can rev the engine no problem but in reverse or drive still have to press the gas all the way down to get to 25mph it wont downshift very easily unless i let off the gas check engine light still comes on i only get 2 codes showing and they are the same i get p0300 twice i know its a random misfire i just dont know what else to do i also got alot of white smoke out the tailpipe this is the 4.3 v6 engine

Hey u could have a blown headgasket if u have white smoke. i recommend u do a simple block test. its a bottle u fill up a quarter way with this fluid u buy at part store in a kit called block test. u are checkin for combistion chamber gases in cooling system. u need lower the coolant level a bit so it doesnt get into the test tube an run eng at idle put the tool over the radiator or ur coolant fill resevoir an see if ir fluid changes color meaning theres a fault in head gaskets.

SOURCE: 1992 chevy corsica runs rough, stall or dies after stopping

Sounds the EGR valve and EVP sen is bad even if you tested it. The EGR valve cntrols idle and if carbon up will make the car stall or idle high and low (rpms going up and down) This was common on all cars during that time. I would say replace the EGR valve and senosr. This should take care of the problem. One more thing have the fuel pressure check on the car.

SOURCE: 1996 s10 2.2 engine starts but idles rough and will not rev up.

Hi! You must be frustrated by now! your code is marking that the O2 sensor is bad in bank 1. Did you replace the O2 sensor that is located  before the catalytic converter?  The S10 has an O2 sensor specially made for that cat. its about 30$ That would explain for your blackened spark plugs; your pc on the car is asking for more fuel. GOOD LUCK!!

SOURCE: I currently own a 99 Blazer, 6cyl 4.3L, 4 door,

If you not running the OEM cap and rotor that's where your problem may be. The after market cap and rotor is not as heavy as the OEM and when the two screws that hold down the cap to the distributor is torqued to high,it warps the cap and that's where your problem may be. Remove the cap and inspect the inside and look for abnormal arching, you may want to replace the cap and rotor again. The other thing to is the breather screen in the distributor is known to get plugged up with dirty creating condensation which promote corrosion in the distributor there was a service bulletin from GM to service the screen when working on the distributor or during tune up's. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to help.

Check Engine Light On, P0300 Random Misfire Code. A random misfire means your engine is misfiring, but that the problem is not isolated to one or two cylinders. It is jumping around in a random way from one cylinder to another. A random misfire code usually means the air/fuel mixture is running lean. 97 chevy 1500 sputters at idle in gear can feel it a little while driving no cat. past 2 years run bank1 lean code plugs clean HELP

If the engine is misfiring the check engine light would be on and blinking and the engine control module (PCM) would store a fault code or codes for the cylinders that are misfiring. A lean code will not cause a misfire unless the engine has a vacuum leak most often at the intake manifold gaskets. A misfire code looks like this:

P0300-P0306 for 6 cylinder and P0300-P0308 for a V8.
P0300 indicated a random engine misfire, this can be caused by all kinds of issues.

I have an 05 Suzuki Forenza that has a flashing check engine light. This started on Tuesday. Had the codes looked up. Car is driving shaky and dash lights are blinking. Any ideas?

fix the anti freeze leak --before you blow a head gasket

what your codes mean

Check Engine Light On, P0300 Random Misfire Code. A random misfire means your engine is misfiring, but that the problem is not isolated to one or two cylinders. It is jumping around in a random way from one cylinder to another. A random misfire code usually means the air/fuel mixture is running lean.

What the P0700 code means. P0700 is set when the PCM detects a malfunction in the transmission control system. This malfunction causes the vehicle to set a Check Engine Light and trigger a failsafe mode. Once the failsafe mode is set it will remain until the fault is repaired or normal operation is detected.

A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why. it could be any of the following A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • Defective computer
  • also
  • Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

All of the sudden my check engine light, my VSC light, and my TRAC OFF light came on. Any thoughts?

You need to have the ecm scanned for codes. The VSC and TRAC OFF lights are one just because the Check engine light is on. Once you clear the code in the ecm they will go off too.
