I have Hundai Accent 1999,
I turned off the engine, and turned off the lights, stepped out of the car-
I see that my back light are still on, the key is out of ignition.
The problem looks like the brakes sensor thinks that the brakes are pressed and turned the light on.
Where can I find it?
Meanwhile I have removed the bulbs in the back so the +12V won't die over night

Your vehicle's brake lamp switch is located on top of the brake pedal arm bracket. Most brake lamp switches can be adjusted if they cause the lamps to stay on, however sometimes a replacement of the switch is the only solution.

You can access inside the car. You may have to remove the lower dash cover above the brake and accelerator pedals to gain access to it.

I just ran into this today on a neighbors 2000 Sonata. I couldn't get GOOP to stick to whatever material that pad is made of for the gluing solution. Even though GOOP sticks to just about anything. I don't know how well my solution will last, but I used one of those push in door panel keepers. Just buy the assortment pack that looks kind of close and snap it in the hole. Adjust the switch and so far so good. It beats driving all the way to the dealer if they even have one.
There's a small rubber pad which sits on top of the brake pedal arm. When this pad falls off, it's the same as if the brake pedal is pressed, so the brake lights come on. Find the pad and glue it back on, or make a replacement out of whatever is to hand. Basically, the switch needs to be pressed in to switch the brake lights off, when the pedal is in the normal position.
Happend on my 2000 Accent, and nearly left me with a flat battery.
